So, I had just finish doodling something pretty cool in Flash, and I wanted to do some postwork in Photoshop. Then I remember: I haven''t installed my little outdated version on my new computer yet. So I go to install it, and gives me this stupid error that is telling me my serial number is invalid! Fearing installing it on the other computers somehow invalidated it, I sighed and resigned to wait until the new version came. Still, how am I going to be able to edit my pretty image?

Simple, install Ulead Photoimpact.

But, it''s not that simple!

It gave me the same error, a complaint about the serial number!

So, Here I am, panicking , thinking that for whatever reason, my computer is rejecting all of my old software. Then, fate intervenes. For some reason, the cursor is in the "corporation" text entry box in the still-up Photoimpact installation, so when I bang my head on the keyboard, it puts some characters in it. Of all the luck, my forehead hit the enter key too. Sensing rather than seeing the screen change, I look up from my current task of short circuting my keyboard with my tears of desperation, and lo and behold! It''s begun to install! "Could it really be that easy?" I think to myself, remembering the blank field in Photoshop''s installer.

It was that easy.

So, with my two fave image editing programs installed and working, my keyboard having survived my tears, and my doodle finished, everyone lived happily ever after.

Anyway, my tech tip for the day is: Always fill in every field in the installer, even if the error doesn''t mention it. It may just save your keyboard.

My closing question: If it wanted me to fill in the field for where I worked or whatever, why didn''t it just say so instead of giving me all of that ******** about the serial number?,
