Chapter 7
Back in Samhain's lair…
Samhain whirled his hand in front of the mirror once again. This time it showed Oogie in the center of the holiday woods, laughing maniacally. Sally was on the side, tied up. ``What's this?!'' Jack felt a bit of anger from what he saw. ``Oogie's still alive?'' ``Yes, he is.'' Samhain answered. ``And he's got the one you've risked your life for…Sally.'' ``He's what! I'll kill him again to save her!'' Jack was about to run off when Samhain grabbed the back of his suit with a vine. ``Hold your horses buddy.'' He set Jack down in front of him. ``There's a little more that I must explain…'' ``What is it?'' Jack stood patiently. ``You see, what the Boogie Man plans to do is…he wants to destroy the entire living world.'' Jack looked surprised, almost fearful. ``He wants to what?! That's absurd!'' Samhain nodded. ``He has a spell to take him to that world. When he enters it through this spell, well, he'll become the living incarnation himself.'' Jack raised his eye like an eyebrow. ``He'll be alive?'' ``Yes, but his objective will remain the same…as will his undead powers. He could easily conquer all of earth within a year.'' Jack looked like he was going to be sick. ``I have to stop him.'' ``And you will. You'll have to get there before he opens the portal. But take this.'' Samhain handed Jack a glowing pumpkin leaf. ``Just look through this and you can communicate with me whenever you wish.'' Jack smiled and bowed. ``Thank you Samhain.'' Samhain smiled back. ``No time for that now. Go save the world…and your love.'' Jack only nodded and ran off towards the cave's entrance with Zero following right behind. When Jack was out of sight, Samhain sat in a pile of leaves and grinned. He said to himself, sounding sarcastic. ``I sure hope he makes it.''
