7 - Read In Between The Lines
((Hey everyone! Sorry it took so long for this to get up! The next chapter will be up shortly too! Enjoy and please comment!)) Chapter 7 "Where did he go?" Trey asked he tried to get up but then collapsed to the ground again. Shiro and Kyou came over and helped Trey stand up. Terra stood next to them "We don't know." Saikyou, Kimori and Ani landed on the pavement next to Terra. They looked tired and distressed. "What about the students and teachers? Did anyone get hurt?" Terra asked softly as she attended Trey's wound apparently he had cut on the back of his head and a severe bruise. Shiro and Kyou held him up. Joey jumped from the top of the building "Nobody's here." He said. Terra looked worried. She remembered what the thing said. Something about Saikyou being the right one. Joey took over Shiro's place and Shiro headed over to Saikyou and started hugging her. Saikyou had blank look on her face. Everyone was now afraid of what might happen next. * Two day's after the fight, everyone was still alert of anything strange happening. But nothing ever came. Joey walked up the east end of the building and headed for his locker. “Joey! Joey!” Saikyou called to him “Have you seen Ani? She was supposed to be here today for the Soc. Project, and she has all the stuff!” Joey waved to few girls passing by, “I didn't see her, but I spoke to her this morning on the phone. She was feeling fine and she should be coming to school.” And with that he continued to walk to his classroom. Saikyou walked down the hallway to find Terra to see if she saw Ani. Terra didn't know either. Two down four to go. Saikyou went to go look for Trey, Kimori, Shiro and Kyou. None of them knew where Ani was. Saikyou thought for moment. There were some possible choices. Sibling problems, Nah Saikyou thought. Woke up late? Not that either since Joey called her this morning. What else could make Ani late? “Oh no...” Saikyou whispered and ran out of the school doors. * Ani walked down the sidewalk grumbling. “Why did I have to do all the work? Sheesh, at least she could've typed up the directions for the stupid project…” As Ani continued to grumble, she heard footsteps. She lashed around right in time for Saikyou to crash into her. By the time everything dropped to the floor, Saikyou started replying with so many gomen's that Ani really didn't pay attention to them after the first five. “GOMEN NE SAI! I'm so sorry Ani-chan!” Saikyou rapidly picked up the pieces of paper and put them into a neat stack. “Well what the heck were you running for anyway? Did you forget something?” Ani asked. “Uhh… No… Just came to see if you needed any… help” Saikyou smiled weakly as she put the last stack of paper back into the folder. “Ok sure…” Ani eyed her strangely. She inquired farther. “Does this have to do with anything with the strange incident?” “… No… I mean… Uh… Yes? I don't know!” Saikyou threw her hands up in the air for emphasis. Yes she was slightly worried, who wouldn't be if some monster told you, that you were the one? “I guess I'm just worried about safety. I mean I can take care of myself and everything and I know you guys can take care yourselves too but…” “You're just afraid that someone you love, like me and the rest of us, is going to get hurt. Someone that is precious to you.” Ani said practically completing Saikyou's sentence. “Well yeah.” Saikyou looked down to the ground. She turned to Ani and took some of the papers so Ani wouldn't have to carry the burden herself. They both began to walk down the street. Ani spoke sternly but with comfort for Saikyou “You're not the one to worry, okay? We should be worrying about you! We don't want any monsters carrying you off now, do we?” Saikyou let out a small laugh at Ani's sentence. Even though Ani might be mad At Saikyou she will always find a way to cheer her up. “No, not really.” They turned the corner, now only two blocks from the school. When they reached the school Saikyou opened the door with her free hand. “After you.” She said to Ani. “Why, thank-you!” Ani replied. They both giggled as they walked down the hallway towards the Ani's locker. * Terra paced slowly. The silence of the library was comforting. Some days when she really needed to, she would escape to read a book. To adventure into another world, where people were normal. Not like where she was, a place that kind of was not so normal. Some days she would be accidentally late to class because she wasn't paying attention to the time. Terra searched the bookshelves for any new books that might spark her interest. Her eyes landed upon an old book that was bounded in leather. She pulled it out and stared at the cover. There was some writing on it but it was so worn out that it really wasn't readable anymore. She opened the book to beautifully colored pages of dragons and fairies. Each page had a different scene and small captions, none of which could be read. All the dragons were done in great detail. You could even see the glow on each of the scales. She sat down at one of the couches placed in the corner of the room and stared at the magnificent pictures. She turned the page and gazed at a picture of at least a dozen fairies, all in a different color. There was red, green, blue, silver, black, yellow, white, pink, orange, brown, purple and one fairy that shined like gold. They appeared to be sitting in a forest during the night. There was a lush of flowers about them that shined with an unnatural color. Terra noticed a small caption next to one of the fairies. “It looks like it says w-” “Hello Terra!” A small voice said next to her ear. Terra slammed the book in shock and placed her hand over her heart “Trey, you gave me a freaking heart-attack!” Terra leaned back in to the couch and watched Trey move around her and flop down next to her. He was wearing blue jeans, which had many, many pockets, a black shirt, that wasn't tight nor was it loose and his silver tag necklace that hung around his neck. “So what are you doing in the library?” Terra asked; she leaned forward so she could speak better. “I was looking for a new book to read, but the one I wanted is already checked out.” Trey sighed for exaggeration. “Then I noticed you. You looked like you were in a trance or something, so I thought it would be fun to scare you” He let out a little laugh as he said this. Terra punched his arm softly. “Ha-ha, very funny. Scaring someone, especially your girl-friend, while their reading or lost in something isn't very nice!” The sarcasm in her voice was pretty noticeable. “Is there anyway I can apologize for it?” Trey sarcastically remarked. He inched closer to her. “There's nothing you really can do at the moment” Terra opened her book and looked at the pictures once again. She wasn't trying to make Trey stop teasing her; it was that she was beginning to turn red, so she decided to face away from Trey. Warm fingers grabbed the bottom of her chin. Trey's hands turned her face towards his until it was in complete view. “Terra… Is there something wrong? I mean you've been acting kind of strange lately.” Trey asked with a soft expression in his eyes. “Eh? EH?! No, No Nothing's wrong! I'm totally fine” She waved her hands frantically in front of her and repeated it again. She shut the book carefully and put it on the table in front of her so it wouldn't go flying off her lap. Terra would have to check it out later. Trey chuckled to himself. “Ok, because you know I-” “RRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG” The bell rang signaling that everyone had to get to their next period class. “Sorry Trey, I got to go. Were you going to say something else?” Terra looked at him, but she couldn't really see his face. His hand was covering his eyes and he looked like he was smirking. He peeked out through his fingers. “Oh, nothing. I'll tell you later.” He then stood up and walked Terra to the door. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and Terra waved good bye.
