A month later and Gilraen was finally allowed out of the hospital. It had taken a while for her to fully recover and the doctors had taken a long time to get the poison out of her body. But, no matter how long it had taken, she was alive and well. More news was to follow as Gilraen told them that Adrian didn't survive the building collapse! He had been barely alive when they brought him out but had then died in the hospital in his sleep a few days later. Kai had been let out of hospital a lot earlier than Gilraen, when his broken arm, leg and ribs repaired. Gilraen had been in a lot of pain when she had woken up, but she was ok now. In the month that Gilraen had missed, Emma and Dan had become very close and gone out several times. Kai felt sad about this. He wandered if that night had meant anything at all to Emma. It certainly had to him! He couldn't think straight. He couldn't get it out of his mind. Her warm touch. Her beautiful face. Her soft lips. He felt he could hardly stand it anymore. He had to tell her. He couldn't stand it anymore! He couldn't just keep running away from his problems, like a coward! He went to find her. She wasn't in her room and she wasn't anywhere else. Then he remembered that she had gone to get Gilraen from the hospital, with Donna. Those two had decided to make friends as Emma did save Donnas life, and Donna knew something else, that nobody else knew. Emma wouldn't be stealing Gilraen away from her for much longer… Kai sat down, impatient. Why was Emma never there when he wanted to talk to her and always there when he wanted to get rid of her? But that didn't matter. He had made up his mind now. Nothing was going to stay the same tonight. His thoughts were interrupted by Lauri. She looked as though she had been crying. She threw herself on the sofa, dramatically and buried her head in Kais chest. Kai, who was taken aback by this, didn't know what to do. He put his arms around her and could tell instantly that she liked it. “What's wrong?” She shivered and looked up at him. “Kai. Do you love me?” Kai got up, pushing her off. “Actually I wanted to talk to you. Lauri, I don't think I do love you and that's why I think we should end it…” Lauri got up too and put her arms around Kai “Why are you doing this Kai? Is it because of Emma? Do you love her, Kai?” They separated and Kai looked at her. “I don't know.” And with that, he walked out, leaving Lauri in the living room. Emma and Donna arrived at the hospital to find Gilraen waiting in the waiting room for them. Donna went to the bathroom and Emma sat down next to Gilraen and waited for Donna. “Gilraen, I have to tell you something.” Emma took a deep breath and looked Gilraen straight in the eye. “Gilraen, I'm leaving the team.” “Why? You just joined.” “I know. I'm sorry. But I'm leaving with Dan. Gilraen, I really think I'm in love!” Gilraen smiled and looked her back in the eye. “I'm happy for you. I wouldn't have it any other way.” They dropped the subject and a few minutes later, Donna came back. “Did you tell her?” Emma smiled. “Yes. I told her.”
