It was a rainy day. It didn't really help lighten my mood. That is, until she came along. It's raining. It suited my mood, for I was sad. I chewed on my damp strawberry hair reflectively, not noticing the drops of cold water pouring down my neck and soaking me. Shikamaru and Sakura were just two average Genin, one on Team 7, the other on Team 10. They didn't really know each other too much, and they rarely ever talked, mainly because Shikamaru had the Temari spree going, and Sakura loved Sasuke. But now that both of their centers of attention had left, there was no one else to turn to that would understand. Naruto was busy with Hinata, Shino was busy with Kiba, and Ino was scolding Chouji. And of course both Neji and Lee were hitting on Tenten. No one else would understand, no one else could feel the empty spot in their hearts and fill it back up again. No one else but the other could. Of course, neither of them knew it at the time. But very soon, they would. Of course, neither of them knew or felt the other's feeling, being too wrapped up in their own. Do you want to see what Shika and Sakura are thinking? It'll be pretty obvious which one's mind we're in, so don't stress yourselves. Why are you thinking this way? It's not like Temari meant anything to you, right? But then again, maybe she did...But she lives so far away! Maybe if I consider Temari and I as just friends...maybe it would be all right...but she did say before she left that she didn't want to be just friends. And I did promise her. Then why do I have this great emptiness inside me? If we're having a long distance relationship, I shouldn't feel this way...or has Temari already met some new cute guy at Suna and dumped me already? Wouldn't she let me know? Then again...maybe not... You have to be brave. You have to learn how to let go...but I can't just let go of Sasuke, can I? I can't...Naruto told me that when you have something precious to you, you shouldn't let it slip through your fingers. But I did...the person who meant the world to me is now off in Sound somewhere far away. I really did love him though. But I can never let go of Sasuke. It's not like I can just find a cute new Konohan any time...but even if he was cuter than Sasuke, I would never let go of Sasuke. But maybe, (in reality, tears sprang to the emerald eyes) Sasuke's already found a girl in Sound and he's forgotten all about me. B...but I can't let go of you, Sasuke-kun!!! I love you, and I will never accept the fact that you are gone...Well, I know I'll have to eventually...but just a bit longer...just let me keep my fantasy a bit longer...that you'll come back one day...and I'll be here to greet you...just let me keep it a bit longer...you wouldn't grudge me that, would you? The two walked past each other in the muddy lane. As Shikamaru passed Sakura, for a moment he felt that emptiness inside of him fill up. But after Sakura had passed, the emptiness was there once more. Shikamaru stopped dead in the lane, and looked over his shoulder. As he looked at the kunoichi's retreating back, he knew that Sakura was the one for him. Sakura felt something wrap around her waist. She felt warmth and looked around in shocked surprise. As she looked around, her lips were met by someone else's. She saw Shikamaru's arms grasping her waist, felt his lips touching hers. When they broke apart, Shikamaru quietly said, "I've lost so much...I'd like it back...and you fill the blank just fine." Sakura was shocked, then when she had finally regained her voice, "I thought I'd never have that feeling again...I never knew it was you who would give me that feeling again...I think I'll have the strength to give up trying to find something I can never have again." And with that, the two Genin walked on, hand in hand, occasionally stopping for a little kiss or two in the protection of the trees. I KNOW, IT'S NOT SO GOOD! MY FIRST TIME TRYING OUT A SHIKASAKU STORY...I THINK I SHOULD STOP THE YAOI FOR A WHILE AND JUST DO GIRLS AND BOYS...BUT I LOVE YAOI! NO...I DON'T THINK I'LL STOP WRITING YAOI FOREVER!!!!!!!!
