"Finally! Something interesting!" I say.
I FINALLY found a mission that I wanna do. I hate those boring ones like saving cats or watching kids. This one, I gotta be a bodyguard. Phphhht. Easy.
"Here's the client."
I'm introduced to a young man around 20 with dirty blonde hair and silver eyes.
"I'm Kikyo." he says putting out his hand.
"Sonai." I say, shaking it.
He tells me that he's traveling to Sand to visit someone. I dont inquire on who he's visiting because that's his business, not mine.
"Well then. Let's get going." I say when I meet him at the gate.
He nods. He doesnt talk a lot.
"Nu da doooo, da dooooo da dooooo, nu da dooo da dooo dada doooo, nu da da da do da do, nu do do do do doooo ...." I start singing.
Kikyo looks at me with a look that says 'What are yo doing?'
"Oh!" I say and blush. "It's a lullaby my mom used to sing to me."
He nods and looks forward again. I decide to continue singing.
" Nu da do, na nu da do, nu nu nu nu nu nu da do....." I keep on singing the lullaby for awhile. Kikyo starts swaying his head to the song about half way through. I smile at this. When I stop, he looks at me again.
"Why'd you stop?" he asks.
"Because I'm done singing for now." I answer.
"Oh."
I smile inwardly. I'll start singing again. In a little bit. When we make camp for the night. We stop to make camp at dusk. While I set up my tent, I start singing the lullaby again. Kikyo begins to sway again. This time he hums along with me. I fi9nish setting up my tent. I help Kikyo with his, then start a small fire, still singing. I stop when it's time to eat some food. I start up again when I'm finished. When Kikyo finishes, he sways and starts to sing with me. The exact thing I was trying to get him to do. I smile and he smiles back. We continue to sing till I decide I need to sleep. Kikyo continues singing. I fall asleep.
"*yawn* Ready to hit the road?" I say early the next morning after we tore down camp.
Yup!" he says.
I smile and start walking.
