Serpentine Lament
Eyes of venom
Cold and sharp,
Those eyes reach in
And tear apart.
Coils of steel
Hold strong and fast,
It seems almost loving,
Quiet panic steals your mind.
Fangs of death
Bittersweet pain,
Longing for more,
But it must end.
Poison of the ages
Still potent after long dormancy,
Flood the mind with darkness,
Seductively guiding you farther down.
A serpents kiss forever burns a curse upon your shoulder,
Enjoying your pain and helplessness,
You hold your tongue, you must not scream,
He knows you cant live without the venom,
Yet you long to break away.
Like lithium, its bonds seem weak,
Until you try to break them.
