14 - Keep it to yourself
The heavily armed machines all crowded round Flash and Ray. They exchanged glances, then they were suddenly startled by the whining of a machine gun being aimed at them. Ray stood still, open-mouthed at death. Flash tugged the chaos emerald off of Ray’s hands. The machine guns started firing.

Flash: CHAOS CONTROL!

They closed their eyes and appeared on a pearl sand beach.

Ray: Where are we?

Meanwhile, Eggman stared at the CCTV footage, making note of every move.

Eggman: One more time.

The robot obeyed its command and re-winded the tape. It started playing through all of the bat and hedgehog’s reactions again.

Eggman: *sudden* STOP!

The tape paused at a clear enough image of the both of them. Ray was completely still with the gun facing him. Flash’s eyes were black with darkness as his hat reflected the lights.

Eggman: A descendant of Rouge perhaps?

He played the footage and watched Flash use chaos control.

Eggman: *tuts* It seems they’re just giving away the move nowadays. Find out who this yellow fur-ball is!

The robot saluted and left the surveillance room. Eggman was left to ponder…

Back at the beach area, and Flash and Ray were exploring the secluded area. There was nothing a part from sand and water and the sun was beaming down. They had only been there for 10 minutes and already they were panting.

Ray: Is this a backdrop to travelling through speed?

Flash: *gulps* It shouldn’t be. It’s supposed to be a real place, but I’ve never seen it before in my life.

Flash focused on the landscapes behind Ray for a moment and saw a twinkle reflecting off the sun.

Flash: Look there!

Ray followed him to where the gleam came from. Sure enough a metal wheel was sticking out of the ground.

Ray: What is that?

Flash: Best we dig and find out/

A metal door was buried a few inches from the sand, and it was a hexagonal shape. By instinct Ray the wheel, or at least tried to. But it was covered in rust and forced still from years of neglect. It took Flash and Rays full power to get it moving, and the door started to open, bit’s of rust breaking off in the movement. It led to a hole, with a burning light waiting for them at the bottom. They slid down the ladder surprisingly still intact and their feet fell in foot deep water.

Flash: We must be in a waterway.

Ray: Or worse.

They dragged their feet through the water and ended up in a main pipeline. Hundreds upon hundreds of holes were evenly placed around the massive shell. Ray spotted Eggman’s trademark logo on one of the iron walls.

Ray: Eggman?

Flash: Where?

Ray: We must be in a base of his/

Flash: Oh great -_-‘

Flash was right to be miserable. No-one wanted to be in a base of Eggman’s. You either got completely lost and suffered a terrible fate, or Eggman found you according to legend.
Ray flew down to a bridge carrying Flash with him. On one side of the bridge was a door very similar to the one in the white jungle. Flash ran to it as soon as he landed and prepared to kick it open, but it opened automatically. He landed and prepared to kick it open but it opened automatically. He landed on his hands and flipped over. Ray walked through giving an unimpressed look.

Flash: I knew that something embarrassing would happen to me one day.

Ray: And was that it?

???: Oh I wouldn’t say that.

Flash and Ray looked around the hall, but no-one was in sight. They almost believed that one of them had said it, before it started again.

???: If you value your friends lives then the robot not far from where you’re standing will escort you to my room.

A strong looking robot came out of its slumber in the wall. Every step that it took made Flash jump.

Ray: What do we do?

Flash: He’s got someone we need. For now we surrender until we find out who it is.

The robot drew two guns from his armour. Flash comically puts his hands up and Ray reluctantly did the same.

Ray: Are you sure you know what you’re doing?

The robot poked the back of Rays head with the gun it held.

Robot: No conversation!

Flash answered Rays question with a wink as they were slowly marched towards Eggman’s room. After 15 minutes they were facing a door. The robot sharply poked the two as the door opened.

Robot: Bow before the master and take your hat off!

Eggman: Ah…good to see such good manners. I don’t get much of that.

Flash: I wonder why

Eggman: I wouldn’t get too cocky Flash.

Flash showed a look of surprise, though he tried his best not to.

Eggman: Let’s see.

Eggman clicked his fingers and a holographic image of a computer screen came before him. As his finger went through the projector view. Flash’s portfolio from GUN came up on the screen. Flash couldn’t hold his surprises any longer.

Flash: You don’t have access to that!

Eggman: Ah but I do my dear boy. Since so many of GUN agents have gone missing they had no-one else to turn to.

Flash looked puzzled. Why were agents disappearing? And then it hit him.

Flash: Shadow! Blain! They’re with you!

Eggman: You’re smarter than you portray yourself to be. Now let’s see. Flash…possesses electrical abilities…13 years of age…Oh. Wanted by police for serial murder?

Now it was Rays turn to be surprised. He looked at Flash. He had his eyes shut and was almost at crying point.

Flash: It was an accident!

Eggman: Of course. Everything is nowadays. Now that I know you’re a criminal, how about we cut a deal? You give me the emerald or emeralds and I won’t tell GUN where you are.

Eggman patiently waited for an answer as Flash got frustrated with himself. He turned to Ray with interest.

Eggman: You on the other hand are a complete mystery to me. You’re not a GUN agent.

Narrator: Before Ray could even make a choice whether to answer that question. Flash covered his mouth.

Flash: He doesn’t have to answer anything!

Eggman: Oh I beg to differ/

The door behind them started to open. Flash saw those all too familiar shoes and red stripes choose his death.
