"Setsuna-san, I have a question."Aqua said. They were all at the Hikawa Shrine discussing random things. "Ok Aqua! What is it?"Setsuna replied, looking at her with curiosty. "What really happened the night the Moon Kingdom got attacked?"Aqua asked.
"Huh, I knew eventually you would ask. We'll have to call on the power of the Time Key to see the truth of what happened."Setsuna replied. They all transformed and grabbed Pluto's Time Staff and in a flash of pink light were whisked through the time stream. When they finally stopped they were in what was one thousand years ago the Moon Kingdom. Then, they saw Serenity with Endymion on the balcony but noticed Aqua, then Princess Selena and her secret romancer Elyion Prince Endymion's brother watching.
Then, that was when the attack happened. Elyion immediatly rushed off to help fight and Selena did the only thing she felt fit: Go help her friends. When she arrived at where they were they were on the ground close to death. "Minna!"Selena cried, falling next to Rei.
"Selena, you shouldn't be here."Rei whispered. "I'm not leaving you to hide like a child Rei! I'm staying here!"Selena replied. Then, she heard the cackling of Queen Beryl. "You young naive little princess, since your probably the only one who will be able to survive this why not let me have the senshi then join me?"Beryl said.
"Never! I would never even think of betraying my senshi!"Selena cried, getting in front of Rei's battered body in a protective manner. "You insolent brat! You'll pay for that!"Beryl cried, shooting an energy sphere hurtling towards them. "Sheild!"Selena cried, slamming her hands on the ground and a shield of light appearing around them. "I haven't the time for a brat like you, I'll let the Shintennou take care of you."Beryl said, walking away and the Shintennou appearing in her place.
"So Selena, I didn't think that seeing you again would be under such circumstances."Zoicite said, flipping his ponytail off his shoulder. "How dare you betray Endymion-sama and Elyion-sama like this, it's unforgivable!"Selena cried, a tear sliding down her face. "What can we say? The dark side was more convincing."Kuzite replied, smirking. Then, the girls remembered the Shintennou had been with them when the battle had started.
"Selena, they are imposters."Minako said, glaring at the man that had dared to impersonate her lover. "How did you figure it out sailor senshi?"Beryl's voice said and she appearing behind the fake Kunzite. "Two things, one the real Shintennou were here with us when the battle started not on earth, and two the real Shintennou would have died before they betrayed us, the Silver Allience, or their princes."Makoto said, pushing herself up with great difficulty. "Well, they and you have failed. Would you like to see the fate of their princes and your other princess?"Beryl replied, snapping her fingers and the limp bodies of Serenity, Endymion, and Elyion appearing at her feet.
"SERENITY!"They all cried, going to her side and tears falling down all their faces. "No, she was the only family I had left."Aqua whispered. "Why not face it little princess, your beloved cousin and lover are dead because you didn't have the strength to protect them."Beryl said. "Damare!"Minako cried, taking the sword of the inner senshi in her hand and stabbing it through Beryl's cold, heartless body.
"Minako-chan, you did it! You defeated her!"Selena said, hugging her cousin. "Well, you still have to worry about us and her."Zoicite said, pointing into the air where the ruler of the Dark Kingdom in the form of a black cloud was floating and cackling. "We'll beat her! Sparkling Wide Pressure!"Makoto cried, throwing the ring of electricity at the cloud but it just absorbing it's power. "Oh no!"Ami cried.
Then, the cloud released a stream of electric green energy down at them. "Selena abunai!"Rei cried, pushing Selena out of the way just in time for her not to be hit by the blast. But when Selena looked up she saw the very scene she was trying to prevent: Her best friends, her, Serenity, and Trinity's devoted senshi from age five, were dead. But when Selena was about to be hit with the same blast that had killed them a bright pink shield appeared around her. When she looked up she saw her aunt, Queen Serenity, holding something in her right hand and Luna, Aretimis, and Kit by her sides.
Then, Selena realized what she was holding: The Cresent Moon Wand with the Ginzuishou in the center of it. "Aunt Serenity don't! Let me use my crystal you need to live to continue the line of the Silver Milleneum!"Aqua cried, latching herself to her Aunt's arm. "Selena, what you must understand is I am not the one who needs to live to continue the line. You are the final survivor of this terrible tragedy, the senshi, Serenity, and Trinity are gone, so it's up to you to go through the time stream with Sailor Pluto and remain with your memories of this beautiful past and watch over the others until the time comes where your needed again. Do you understand all that I am telling you Selena Aquamarine Yuki Moon?"Serenity explained, cupping Selena's cheek in her hand. "I understand Aunt Serenity."Selena replied, backing away with Kit behind a fallen pillar.
Serenity turned to the cloud, and said three simple words, "Moon Princess Halation!". Serenity then fell on a shattered pillar where Aqua and Kit ran over and took her Aunt's hand in hers. "Selena, remember you are our only hope. And I only hope that you and the others shall have the good lives you deserve in the future on Earth. When you arrive to your mother's old palace your true guardians shall be awakened to train you. Now, with my last wish of the Ginzuishou send the souls of those lost in this battle to the future of earth where they shall be reborn and lead normal lives unless the Dark Kingdom shall find a way to escape. Luna, Aretimis, if that is to happen you shall be awakened to find the senshi and Selena, take this orb so you and Kit shall be allowed to montier them during the many challenges they are sure to have."Serenity said, handing the pink orb to Selena and releasing the Crystal into the Solar System. Once they were all gone Selena sat by the barely alive body of her aunt until Sailor Pluto arrived when suddenly, she felt a chill wind blow.
She didn't have to look behind her to know that Sailor Saturn, one of her best friends was there. "Selena, I..."Saturn started. "I know Hotaru, just do what you must I'll stand by."Selena finished for her, placing a final kiss on her Aunt's head and stepping aside. "By the powers of Saturn, please escort the spirit of the beautiful Queen Serenity to the place where she belongs."Saturn whispered, releasing the soft purple light out of her glaive.
Then, in a flash of light the home Selena had known so well was gone. Then, the rest of the outer senshi, her trainers and devoted friends and suraget sisters appeared. That was when Selena finally let her tears fall. "Haruka Onee-chan!"Selena cried, running into Sailor Uranus' open arms and crying.
"Ok Selena, no need to shed any more tears. You know this isn't the way Queen Serenity would want to see you."Haruka said, hugging the small girl in an attempt to calm her. "Your right Haruka Onee-chan, she would want me to stay strong for the good of everyone. So if your ready to go, so am I."Selena replied, regaining her composure. "Now that's the princess we know, so let us leave."Sailor Pluto said, opening the door that would lead them to the Time Gate. They walked in silence until they finally reached the Gate.
"Gate of Time, open your doors to the future that Queen Serenity has set forth for Selena."Pluto said, unlocking the gate with the sacred powers of Pluto. When Selena stepped up to the door, she turned and asked something that surprised them, "What will happen to you guys?" "Well, we shall be reborn in the same future set across for you guys."Sailor Saturn said. "And I shall continue guarding the Gates of Time."Pluto said.
"But rest assured we shall meet again Aqua."Sailor Neptune said, using Selena's middle name as she had requested they do all those years ago. "That is good, I shall see you soon minna."Selena said, giving them all one last hug. Then, she and Kit stepped through the Gate of Time. Then, they flashed back to the Shrine.
"It nearly killed me to leave you all that dreadful night."Aqua said, wiping a stray tear from her eye. Then, Minako came over and wrapped her arms around her. "Well, were together again and gotten through all the obstacles that were set here for us by fate and we'll never have to go through the pain of leaving each other again."Minako said, squeezing Aqua in a way that let her know everything was alright. "And we now know the truth about the Shintennou. That they were our lovers and that the ones we fought were imposters."Ami added, a silent smile coming to her face.
"Mamoru, do you still have the stones that the real ones turned into?"Aqua asked. "I never leave home without them."Mamoru replied, pulling them out of his pocket. "Give them to me. For the sake of you and the girls me and the Outers shall figure out a way to revive them."Aqua said, taking them out of his hand and placing them safely into her purse. "Arigato Aqua-chan."Ami said, hugging her.
"Do itamashite Ami-chan, I would do anything in the world for you guys."Aqua replied, hugging her back. So she and the Outers hopped into Haruka's car and drove off.
