The sky was blanketed with the colors of a sunset. The lone shadow of Cat stretched out from behind her as she stood in front of the agency building, which she just stepped out of.
She had done her work for the day and was going to walk home. The weather was nice and spring-like. Not too hot, not too cold. And there was a nice cool breeze whispering through the city.
Ms. Yukino had offered Cat a ride home, but Cat kindly refused the offer, telling her that a walk would help her clear her head a bit. Ms. Yukino pointed out that it was a long walk, but Cat insisted. Ms. Yukino had no choice but to hesitantly agree.
The words that came from Akai were still lingering in Cat’s head. She wished for nothing more than to get the haunting words out of her head.
Cat knew she shouldn’t believe anything that Akai had told her…but she couldn’t help but feel a bit doubtful.
A part of her was still asking What if…just what if…she was right?
Cat continued to stare at the sidewalk in front of her, clutching her handbag tightly at the strap.
Something stopped her though, after she rose her head to take a couple of steps forward.
There, Atemu stood in front of her, staring at her.
“Atemu? What are you doing here?” Cat asked curiously.
Atemu smiled in response.
“I came to pick you up obviously.” He said, amused. But his eyes suddenly became serious. “So we can talk.”
Cat’s shoulders tensed at the sudden look of seriousness he gave her. And he wanted to “talk”? It HAD to be about Akai.
“I-It’s about Akai…isn’t it?” She asked in a struggled voice.
Atemu’s smile slowly disappeared, and stayed that way for a moment before a smirk appeared on his face. “You’re always able to see right through me.” He chuckled. “Now. We should probably head home. It’s getting dark.” Atemu extended his hand towards her.
Cat hadn’t moved from her spot. Talking about Akai…even THINKING about her…was the last thing Cat wanted to do at the moment. And if she went with Atemu, he would surely find a way to get the information out of her, no matter what.
Cat felt her stomach twist as she decided her next move. Quickly turning on her heel, she made a mad dash away from Atemu. He was either going to lose sight of her, or catch her.
It wasn’t long until Atemu had realized what had just happened. He quickly chased after her, calling after her.
Cat continued to run as fast as her legs could possibly go. She briefly thought to herself that maybe she was being a little too dramatic about it all…but at that moment, she didn’t really care.
They were passing the park now. And that was as far as Cat could go.
She was stopped early by two strong arms locking themselves around her waist, and causing them to both collapse. Cat cried out as she fell.
The two tried to catch their breath while Atemu was still clamped onto Cat’s waist, not intending to let go.
“Why…did you run…away?” Atemu panted.
Cat looked slightly scratched up from the fall as she turned to look at him over her shoulder, tears at the corner of her eyes.
“I…I don’t want to talk about Akai! I don’t even want to think about her or hear her name!” She cried. “She only comes up with more and more convincing ways to confuse me!”
Atemu sighed and scooted himself up to her level. “She’s trying to convince you that I’m going to leave you, huh?” He asked.
Cat stared at him. Her eyes telling him the obvious answer. “She’s poking at my greatest fear…my fear of losing you. There’s nothing else in the world that scares me more!” She choked through near sobs.
“Will you believe me if I told you myself, that I would never leave you for her or anyone?” Atemu asked.
“It depends. How do I know you’re not with her on this?” Cat asked.
Atemu gently took one of Cat’s hands. The one with the engagement ring on it.
“Because of this.” He said softly. “This prepares us to be forever bonded. After all this time. After all we’ve been through. You think that I would simply leave you like that? Cat, I did not let my soul rest for eternity in the afterlife like it should have done, because I loved you too much. And I had the opportunity.
There’s also the silver cartouche. Luna’s name being replaced with yours means that you and I were destined for each other. And…think about it Cat. I wouldn’t have asked you to marry me…if I didn’t mean it.”
The tears finally left Cat’s eyes freely. She was starting to feel guilt for doubting him. Atemu smiled and stroked her hair.
“Besides…I want to be with Cat. I want to love Cat and Cat alone.” Atemu was moving closer as he spoke. “I want to touch Cat. I want to know Cat more than anyone else. I want to kiss Cat. I want to be at Cat’s side, forever.”
By this time, Atemu’s lips were less than an inch away from Cat’s.
“I want Cat to belong to me and no one else. Just as I want to belong to Cat and no one else.”
After those words, Atemu kissed her fully as he gently touched her face.
Cat blushed and closed her eyes slowly. It had been a long time since Atemu had treated her so tenderly. It was making her heart practically leap out of her chest.
This encouragement…had given Cat a new inspiration.

Three familiar faces sat on a bench on the other side of the park, from where Atemu and Cat were.
Kay looked up at the sky without moving her head; studying the colors of the sunset.
“What are you thinking about?” Kaiba had brought up the question as he held Kay in his arms, sitting next to.
“Ah, it was just a passing thought. I wonder if Atemu has been able to talk any sense into Cat yet.” Kay mummered as she stroked Mokuba’s hair.
Mokuba was lying on Kay’s lap, napping. Kaiba, Kay and Mokuba had just spent the whole day together, and Mokuba was worn out.
Kaiba rolled his eyes. “That was a random thought.” He sighed. “Don’t worry about it. You can ask Atemu next time you see him.”
“You’re right.” Kay said. “I hope everything’s okay at least.”
Kaiba nodded and ticked his gaze to Mokuba.
“When did he fall asleep?” He asked.
Kay looked down at Mokuba.
“I don’t know.” She answered softly. “I don’t think it was that long ago.” She giggled. “Poor little guy. He must be worn out.”
“I think it’s because he’s so comfortable with you.” Kaiba said.
Kay looked at him.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“He doesn’t usually let his guard down like that.” Kaiba answered. “He only lets his guard down around me.”
Kay smiled. “Wow, I feel special.” She laughed.
Kaiba played with Kay’s hair. “You should. You’ll make an excellent mother someday.” He said casually.
Kay’s face flushed at the words and was silent for a moment.
“M-Maybe.” Kay was able to say. “But, I think it’s a little early to be thinking about motherhood.”
Kaiba shrugged innocently. “I still stay where I stand.” He said taking her face in her hand. “I say you’ll be an excellent mother, because I KNOW you will.”
“We’ll have to see…there’s still the whole taking care of the newborn baby and to childhood and the kid’s first’s an-“ Kay was shushed by Kaiba.
“I’m sure you can handle it.” Kaiba grinned before kissing her gently on the lips.
Unable to argue, Kay accepted the kiss and returned it.
The two stayed that way for a while until they pulled away, needing a breath of air.
“Kayyyy! Kaibaaa!”
Kaiba and Kay turned to find two figures jogging to them, one holding onto the arm of the other.
“Revea?” Kay asked as her friend and her boyfriend had reached them. “What are you doing here?”
Revea smiled happily at them.
“Me and Bakura were on a date! Funny how we had run into you here.” She said happily.
Revea was the same age as Kay and everyone else. She was a pretty girl with black hair and two strands of hair which where a lighter purple. There was one strand of colored hair on each side of her face. The two strands of hair had three gold rings that held them separate from the rest of her black raven hair.
She had light purple, soft eyes and pale skin.
The dress she wore was a pale pink and matched her shoes.
In one of her arms was the arm of Yami Bakura, who looked slightly embarrassed, running into Kay, Kaiba and Mokuba.
Bakura looked the same as usual. Spiky white hair, pale skin, brown, and sharp eyes. He was slightly taller than Revea and was dressed casually, yet nicely for his date with Revea.
He was somehow able to escape being sealed away with the Millennium Items in the Valley of the Kings. No one was quite sure how he escaped and got his own body, though. He wouldn’t say.
Even though Bakura was a thief in the past and the Pharaoh’s (Atemu’s) enemy, he was deeply in love with Revea. As Revea was with him. Even though sometimes, he was too stubborn to admit it.
And yet, Revea seemed to be the only one who was able to keep him under control. And get him to behave when needed.
Revea and Bakura had been lovers ever since 3,000 years ago, in the past. Revea recently appeared after everyone found out tha Atemu came back from the after life. She was easy to make friends with and everyone befriended her quickly.
“Is that so?” Kay asked. “How has the date gone so far?”
“Wonderful as always.” Revea giggled. “When you’re on a date with someone you love, I find it hard to not be happy. Don’t you think?”
Kay nodded, smiling.
“Yeah. I guess that’s how it is with a lot of people.” She agreed.
Bakura mumbled something in a sheepish tone, looking a little embarrassed, as if he was confessing love.
Revea looked at him.
“What was that? I didn’t hear.” She said.
Bakura sighed and gave Revea a quick kiss on the lips. “Nothing, love.” He said quietly.
Revea smiled in response and kisses him on the cheek.
“Well, we’d better go. Me and Bakura have some other things we’d like to do before it gets too late.” Revea said. “Bye-bye!”
Kay and Kaiba waved as the other two walked off. Kay looked back up at the sky. It was getting darker.
“We should probably take Mokuba home. It’s getting dark.” Kay said.
“Yeah. You’re right.” Kaiba said, standing up and picking Mokuba up from Kay’s lap.
“Let’s head back to the mansion.”
Kay smiled. “Gladly.” She said.
