9 - Illness
“Okay! So the commercial shooting will start in 3 months. Cat, you’ll start practicing with Atemu for the commercial in a month an a half!” Cat listened politely to Ms. Yukino. They were all in a meeting at the agency building. “So, what am I going to do until then?” Cat asked. “Well…until you have to start practicing for the commercial, you’re free. But I do suggest to keep on practicing on your song, so you don’t get rusty.” Ms. Yukino explained. “It’ll be a great time to bond with your friends some more. And your fiancee.” Cat smiled. She liked that idea. She was finally getting a break from work. I was really nice, especially since the competition she had against Red Petal. It was a really stressful time for her. But once the results were announced, Cat had won. The directors of the commercial noted that Red Petal’s song was a bit too selfish sounding. It wasn’t a pure or happy song. Ever since then, Cat hadn’t heard from Red Petal. Even though, she was sure they would probably run into each other again, sometime. “Okay then!” One of the staff members said. “I guess that settles everything, right?” Ms. Yukino nodded. “Right. So I guess the meetings over.” She said. Everyone stood up and thanked each other for their time and wished one another, good luck. “Caaat!” Cat turned around to see the agency president behind her. Mr. Shido. He smiled. “This is a pretty big victory, for you, Cat.” He said. Cat smiled a small smile and nodded. “Yes, it is.” She said. Mr. Shido grinned. “So, I was thinking…in celebration of your victory, why don’t you and I go to a hotel a-“ Ms. Yukino hit him over the head before he could continue. “Shut up! What have I told you about hitting on Cat like that?! And in case you don’t remember, she’s engaged now!” She scolded before grabbing his ear. “Sorry about that Cat. You’re free to go. The meeting is over.” And with that, Ms. Yukino drug Mr. Shido away. Cat smiled weakly as she watched them leave, before leaving herself. She had stepped into the hallway until her cellphone began to ring. She quickly answered it. “Hello?” “Hey Cat!” It was Yugi. “Oh! Hi Yugi! What’s up?” “I actually called because of Atemu…” “Huh? What happened to him?” “Well, as you know, he was still asleep after you left to go to the agency. About two hours ago, he finally got up. But he wasn’t looking too well. Half-hour later, he collapsed with a fever!” “What?” Cat gasped. “He’s sick?” “Yeah. I think it’s just a cold. But Grandpa and me helped him back into his bed. And I was hoping you could pick up a couple of things that are supposed to help colds.” Yugi replied. “Sure. Give me the list.” Cat said. *** “Good. It looks like you got everything.” Solomon (Yugi’s Grandpa.) said to Cat with a smile. Cat smiled and picked the plastic bags with items Yugi asked her to buy, to help Atemu’s cold. “I’m glad I didn’t forget anything. As you know, that usually happens.” She said sheepishly. “Um…I-I guess I’ll go see him now.” Solomon nodded. “Alright then. You can just leave the cold stuff down here, and me or Yugi can go take care of the Pharaoh if he needs it.” He said. “U-um, actually, Mr. Motou…you and Yugi are usually busy. Ms. Yukino told me that I have a month and a half off…so…I’ll take care of him. It’s no trouble.” Cat said. “Besides…I want to help him feel better.” She smiled. Solomon smiled. “Ah, young love. Okay then Cat. But if you need any help taking care of him, don’t hesitate to ask for some help, alright?” He said. Cat nodded. “Alright then. I’ll leave the rest to you.” Solomon said with a smile before walking off. Cat smiled and hurried upstairs with the bags. Quietly, she opened Atemu’s door and peeked in, to make sure he wasn’t sleeping. It didn’t look like it, so she stepped in, closing the door behind her before walking up and kneeling by his bedside. Atemu slowly turned his head to look at her, tiredly. “Cat…” He whispered with a weak smile. Cat smiled at him. “I heard you collapsed from a fever. Guess you got a cold.” She said before placing a hand on his forehead and jerking her hand back. “Oh my goodness! You’re burning! Hold on just a moment.” Cat stood up and pulled a couple of things out of one of the plastic bags before leaving the room for a moment. After another moment, she returned to the room. “Can you sit up for a second?” Cat asked. Atemu did so and Cat replaced his pillow with another. When Atemu laid back down, he looked at her. “It’s kind of cold…what kind of pillow is this?” He asked. “It’s an ice pillow. It’s supposed to help reduce a fever.” Cat explained before placing an ice bag on his forehead. “This will help too. You were really burning up.” Atemu smiled at her as she started to dig through the bags. “And I have cold medicine, and throat drops, more fever reducing stuff…uh…oh yeah! And tissues.” She listed. “Plus I picked up a cook book that teaches you how to prepare meals for people who are sick. Lucky for me, most of the recipes don’t include actually “cooking”. There’s no heating required and such.” Atemu chucked and Cat looked at him, confused. “What?” She asked. “I honestly think you are going to make an excellent wife.” Atemu replied. Cat blushed. “I don’t know about that. But thank you.” She said with a weak smile. *** “How is he doing?” Solomon asked as Cat helped him and Yugi clean up after dinner. “He still has a slight fever, but it’s went down a lot. And that’s good.” Cat said, washing a dish. “By the way, what is he going to eat? I know he wouldn’t want any of the food we just had.” Yugi asked. “I know some things are difficult to swallow when you have a cold because of your throat. So I bought a cookbook that shows some good recipes for colds.” Cat replied. Yugi and Solomon froze, remembering several cooking incidents with Cat, which usually included the stove catching on fire. Cat paused and looked at them, sweatdropping. “Most of the recipes are cold, so there will be no cooking involved.” She assured them. Yugi and Solomon sighed in relief and continued what they were doing. Cat rolled her eyes and finished up her part of the dishes. “I’m going to go check on him.” She said, pulling a water bottle from the fridge in case he needed some water. Silently she walked upstairs and walked into his room, shutting the door behind her. “How are you doing?” Cat asked, sitting on the bed, next to him. “Not sure.” Atemu mummered. “But I know it’s not good.” Cat sighed. “I’m sorry. I wish I could make you feel better faster.” She said. Atemu smiled at her. “It’s alright.” He said. There was silence for a moment and Cat looked at the water bottle in her hand. “Oh! Atemu, are you thirsty?” She asked, holding up the water bottle. “A little.” Atemu replied. “Alright.” Cat said, twisting the cap off the bottle. “Feed me by mouth.” Cat froze and stared at Atemu. What? “I feel awful.” Atemu said. Cat was still frozen. She dropped the cap as her mind went to a complete blank. Atemu sighed and sat up, taking the water bottle from Cat’s hand and taking a drink from it. Pausing, he set the water bottle aside and quickly kissed Cat, transferring the water from his mouth to hers. (AHH! Backwash!!! Lol, JUST KIDDING! *gets hit by a brick for ruining the moment.* X_X) Atemu then pulled back, standing up. “That’s feeding by mouth.” He said as Cat placed a hand over her mouth in shock, blushing. Cat was speechless. “A-are you feeling better?” She asked, still surprised by the sudden action. Before Atemu could respond, he swayed for a moment before collapsing again. Cat caught him in her arms. “Oh…I guess not.” She said, holding Atemu. She sighed, wondering if the fever made him collapse. Carefully, she helped him back into his bed and tucked him in. “Try not to move so much.” She said with a smile and stood up to leave. But Atemu caught her arm. “Where are you going?” He asked. Cat looked at him over her shoulder. “I’m going to make you some food. I’ll be back, I promise.” She said with a soft smile.

Hehe, that's funny, mostly the end. Poor Atemu though. He got sick. At least it allows some EternalShipping fluff to go on. ^^ Great job Cat-chan! Now to read more! Yay!
