something jumped out and pinned her down to the ground, it happened so fast that she had dropped all her things and now was staring into curious, bright blue eyes. The stranger that had jumped out at her made a little whistling sound, then out of the midst of the trees scurried a small white fluffy creature. The creature climbed onto the strange girls shoulder and she seemed to be whispering to it.
“Who are you?” Alexandra asked.
The girl did not answer, instead she continued to whisper to the fluffy creature. She tried again, “WHO ARE YOU?!?!” this time more angrily.
“I am Xaviera,” the girl answered. “I live on this island, and this is my animal companion, Fluffy,”
“Can you please get off me?” Alexandra asked.
“Oh sure, sorry if I startled you,” Xaviera answered.
Alexandra brushed herself of and collected her possesions. “Well, I’d better be on my way. I want to get as far as I can before nightfall, I have a long journey ahead of me,” Alexandra told her.
“Wait, are you looking for the gem of freedom and strength?” Xaviera asked curiously.
“Yes… how did you know?” Alexandra replied.
There was silence for a few seconds then Xaviera spoke up, “Every traveller that comes across this island is searching for the gem, they venture towards it but never return. I don’t think it’s a good I dead for you to travel alone, besides, I know this island like the back of my hand, I’ll accompany you.”
“Ok you can accompany me, but on one condition, you help me carry some of my equipment, deal?”
“ Deal.”
So the two girls, and Fluffy who perched on Xaviera’s shoulder ventured on toward their goal.
