As Mat and Hanon travelled, they saw strange underwater towns, all of them without people. Something was wrong when they arrived in a western-like town.
Mat: "This is the fifth town that's been deserted so far. Something's not right."
Hanon: "Weird. There's a strong energy coming from this town. The same energy from my wand. It's here!"
A little goblin-like thing ran from a building nearby. It saw them, and let out a loud screech. More of them appeared, some even jumped out from windows. Most of them were holding clubs or spears.
Mat: "Well, it looks like these varmints want us a showdown. I say we give'em one."
Hanon: "Ready when you are."
Mat summoned his slingshot, and put on a cowboy hat that was laying nearby. Hanon jumped up, and bounced off each goblin that went after her. They kept swinging their weapons, but Mat was too quick. He kept firing bullets or blowing them away with extreme breakdance moves.
Every time Mat or Hanon beat one, more joined the brawl. One of them held a tiny wand with a winged star on it. A blade of energy came from the wand.
Hanon: "Hey, that one has my wand! Let's get him!"
Several arrows flew past them, striking all the goblins. Behind them was a boy that almost looked like Mat, except he wore two shirts. His second shirt was like one of those shirts you can undo in case you got too warm. In his hand, he held a weird looking crossbow with the trigger up front and a handle on the back. Just above the bow part of the weapon, there was a blade on it.
Mat: "Who is that sharpshooter?"
Hanon: "I'm not sure, but he looks a lot like you."
The mystery boy then pointed his weapon at Mat. But something stopped him. He looked at the back of his hand, and noticed that a symbol appeared. The exact same that Mat had: three triangles, one of them with a gold color.
Boy: "He... he has the second symbol. Is that boy the one?"
Out of nowhere, a mermaid in a waitress outfit wandered outside. She yelled out at the the buildings, and more merfolk appeared, most of them wearing western or cowboy clothing. All three of them were surprised.
Mat: "Whoa, I thought this place was a ghost town 'til those monsters showed up."
Waitress: "Oh, thank you for getting rid of those foul beasts. Who are you?"
Mat: "He he, name's Mat. The girl over there is Hanon."
Boy: "I'm Maxi. You may know me as 'The Phantom Slayer'."
Waitress: "Sorry, none of us have ever heard of ya. What brings you here, anyway?"
Hanon: "Me and Mat are searching for, uh, some friends of mine."
Before Mat could say anything, most of the females were crowding him, wanting him to stay, planning for the future. Hanon leapt over the frenzy and pulled him out, but when she grabbed his hand, he felt something odd. After she let go, Mat fell down and fainted.
Hanon: "Ah, Mat! What happened?!"
One Girl: "Quick, let's bring him inside."
A while later, he finally woke up, only to notice one of those crazed mermaids kissing him. He was so surprised, he felt like getting the heck outta there.
Mat: "Oh, geez, what's going on?" (Wait, I remember now. It finally came back after all these years!) "Hey, thanks, Hanon."
Hanon: "Huh, what did I do?"
Mat: "You helped me recover something very important. A special memory from a long time ago. I thought I lost it forever."
Blond-hair Girl: "Ooh, maybe it's about one of us."
Black-hair Girl: "It couldn't be. We've never seen him before.
Mat: "Girls, if you're that curious, I'll tell you what it was about. Just gather around and listen."
