The chime of bells softly filled the air at the same time that the mist began to creep in. Striding through it was a group of three shadowy figures wearing long, billowing cloacks. As they neared Konoha, the mist cleared, ever so slightly. At their approach, the guards at the station stood up, ready for attack. But they suddenly slumped over their chairs as the figure in the middle turned his head.
"Huh, the place looks pretty beat up." Observed the largest figure, a tall man with blue skin and gill-like structures on his face. He was carrying a massive object wrapped in bandages on his back.
"Sure does." Agreed the smallest figure. She was a girl, slight in frame, although it was difficult to tell through the long black cloak patterned with red clouds outlined in white that she was wearing. The girl was roughly 13 or 14 and had a shaggy halo of black hair framing her face. Trotting beside her was a pitch black wolf with a single white ear.
"Does it upest you, Itachi?" The blue man asked the other one of their group, a man of nearly 20 with dark hair, red eyes, and two wrinkles trailing from his eyes on his face. A Leaf Headband was on his forehead, but it had a slash straight through the center.
"Hardly." Itachi said quietly, "Don't forget our mission. Espically you, Ketari. As your first mission as a full fledged member, it would hardly due you good to fail."
"Yes, Itachi-Senpai." Ketari said with a nod. She looked down at the wolf beside her. They exchange words mentally and the wolf nodded at Itachi as well. The blue man frowned, but as a group, they walked into the village.

"Reiko, come on! We need to get going!" Naruto was shouting at the Uchiha girl and waving frantically. Both he and Reiko had large packs on their shoulders. This was because they had been selected by Jariya to go on a special mission. Although the details had not been too clear, it was understood that they were supposed to accompany him to find his old teammate, Tsunade.
"Naruto-san!" Reiko huffed, turning to face him, "We can't leave without Kumiko." Reiko was refering to her teammate, the only one who was in the village at the time. Jariya had agreed to let the other girl tag along for training.
"Geeze, she's worse than Kakashi." Naruto grumbled, making Reiko chuckled.
"Reiko! Naruto-san!" Both of them looked up to see Kumiko racing up the dirt path, waving like a maniac, "Sorry I'm late!" Kumiko was a tall girl with lavender eyes and brown hair pulled up into two flat pigtails that reached the end of her ribcage. Her hair in the back reached the base of her neck and her bangs covered up bits of the new headband on her forehead.
Kumiko's arms were wrapped in bandages, the top half of her left arm and the bottom half of her right. She was wearing a purple cut-off top with bandages underneath it that wrapped to her midriff. Instead of a skirt, Kumiko had wrapped more bandages around her legs and worn pink shorts underneath it. She was also wearing one purple glove on her left hand, a single pink sock on her left foot and had a pink and purple belt wrapped around her waist. Running beside her was a small light brown lion with a copper mane.
"Kumiko, you made it!" Reiko cried as her friend ran up, panting, "I was worried."
"Yeah, sorry!" Kumiko repeated, not attempting to explain why she was so late. Naruto watched the pair of girls for a few minutes, tapping his foot impatiently, and then shouted:
"Alright then! Can we get a move on now, please?!" Both girls looks at him startled, then looked at each other. Naruto grumbled some more and turned around to walk up the path. Kumiko and Reiko shouldered their packs and scuttled off after him.

They had strolled through the village without any sort of encounter. Of course, it probably had to do with some sort of gen-jutsu Itachi was casting, but at the same time, Ketari couldn't help but feel some animosity towards the village to which she had once belong.
For one thing, at least someone in the village should have been able to notice that there was a group of three S-Ranked criminal ninjas, two of which came from the very village, strolling through the streets. For another, she didn't really want to be there looking for some stupid kid with some stupid demon. Even if that was the supposed point of the organization that she had found herself in. However, she was smart enough not to voice this opinion in front of the two seniors members she was with. Espically since Kisame might have taken the opportunity to stab her with his freakish sword.
"Come on, you guys. We're gonna be late!" A boy with brown hair, thick eye-liner, and red-brown eyes raced a bit past them and turned around to shout at the two ninja about his own age trailing farther behind and scowling.
"Well, we'd hate to ruing your perfect record, Golden Boy." Said the boy with emo-styled black hair. He and the girl, a strange looking child with purple hair, yellow eyes, and two brown cat ears sticking out of her head where normal ears shoud be, with him made no move to go any faster. Golden Boy, as the other boy had called him, frowned and pushed farther into the crowd.
"Tai Kazukii, get your @$$ over here right this very second or I will knock it off for you!" A woman's voice shouted over the din around them. Ketari noticed they had stopped. Itachi seemed to be watching the girl in the group for some strange reason. Tai groaned and the girl smirked as he raced off. She began to follow him but then froze in her tracks as she saw the group in cloaks in front of her.
"I...Itachi?" The girl asked, stumbling backwards a few paces.
"Selina...it has been long a time, has it not?" Itachi asked, not moving, only following the girl with his emotionless eyes.
"Why are you here? How can you dare show your face again?" The girl demanded, crouching into a position as if ready to pounce. Itachi chuckled.
"Do not worry. I am not here for any reason that requires me to come within any contact of my younger brohter."
"Do you know this girl, Itachi-senpai?" Ketari asked with a frown. The rules had been stated clearly enough: as little contact as possible.
"Want me to cut off her pretty little legs?" Kisame purred, fondling the handle of his massive sword.
"No...Deidara would not be quick to forgive us if anything were to happen to his little sister because of us." Itachi said, taking his eyes off of Selina and looking off into the horizon.
"You know Deidara-nii?" Selina asked, eyes wide, "Where is he? How is he?"
"I trust you will not let Sasuke know of our encounter, Selina-Chan." He looked at Kisame and then to Ketari. Without another word to the shocked girl in the middle of the road, they left.
