Gilraen went pale. Kai did nothing. Then he reached into her pocket and pulled out the knife without her noticing. He began to cut the ropes to free himself, at first missing the ropes and slitting his hand. He winced and carried on. Adam walked back through the door and Gilraen shrieked so suddenly, Kai jumped and cut his hand again. “ouch!” he cursed under his breath. Neither Gilraen nor Adam noticed though. Gilraen was screaming her head off at him from the moment he stepped in. “YOU MURDERED ANDREA YOU BLOOD THURSTY @$$ HOLE!!! YOU KILLED HER!!! WHY?! WHY DID YOU KILL HER?!” Adam remained calm. “I knew she was the only one on your team who really cared about you. This made her a bigger threat. And when she found you down here before I knew she would look here again and I cant afford to have her involved. So I went to the hotel room, trying to find her, but she had gone. Then I saw her making her way to the abbey, luckily I caught her just in time.” He walked over to the machine with two things glowing in it. They looked like bubbles, huge bubbles. There was a black/grey one and a blood red one. He pressed a button and the black/grey one became smaller. Gilraen gasped, as though she was being strangled. It kept getting stronger and Gilraen kept struggling. Adam was grinning, looking as though he was enjoying it. Gilraen gasped. “Why are you doing this? We used to be friends!” “Well I wanted to take it to the next step, but you wouldn't let me. You broke my heart, and now I'm going to stop yours!” “No!!!” Kai broke free and dived at Adam, knocking him into his machine, knocking him out. Gilraen stopped struggling. She suddenly was re-gaining strength. She saw a knife in Kais hand. He ran and un-tied her. He then stood over Adam with the knife. He looked at Gilraen. She gave him a determined look. “Do it!” He thrust the knife into Adams chest, sending blood everywhere. At that exact moment the machine smashed and then it happened. Gilraen felt her heart stop. She fell to the floor. She heard Kai fall next to her. Everything went black. Then, as quickly as it had happened, it stopped. She sat up. Adam had gone. The machine had broken and the two bubbles were gone. Kai stood up. “What happened? Where did he go? How come were not dead?” Gilraen walked up to the machine slowly, examining it and thinking carefully. “Adam sold his soul to this thing. And because we killed him, the machine has been destroyed. As have our souls. They're gone.” “So why aren't we dead?” “It's had the reverse effect. We're not dead, we're immortal. Forever. Nobody can kill us.” She stood next to Kai as they both stared at the broken glass and the goo substance that once held their souls. “We're in this together now.” She said, putting her arm round him. “We've done it, and now were in this whole thing together.
