New drawing of a Golden Eagle. Its going to be the largest piece Ive done ( 30x40 ) so i have lots of work to do yet. Lots different colors in the face. Truth be told Im Doing this potentialy for an album cover; the eagle will be holding a guitar in its talons coming in for a landing. The artist asked me to give it a shot.....we will see.

Uhh yeah the funny thing was while doing this the colour went wierd when i tried to colour it, so i drew bird on seperate document and added later , but colour still went weird so i left it as the settings must have changed or something, so yeah instead of a brown and golden brown bird i ended up with this, which still kinda looks cool

Though my highschool´s mascot is the hawk, the title does not refer to them lol.

This picture I drew for my grandpa, whom I get my art talent from. It´s hanging proudly in his house, and I named it ¨Hawk Pride¨ for his pride in me. I think it´s a hawk..maybe an eagle not really sure. The reference I got was from the backgrounds program on my iphone lol.

Anyway done with pencils from 2H-3B. The part that´s completely black sucks, the paper I choose lifts the color off too much so the markings show. My favorite part is the beak and the eye, I really suffered with the so called fur, not really happy with how it came out. I´ll post a better copy when I get home.

This was originally an ink drawing I did for a high school project a few years ago. I found it with some other old pics, and decided that it needed some color, so I scanned it, then added contrasting colors to it on the computer(kinda looks like a phoenix, but it isn't). It's a little different because I usually don't use ink in my drawings (back then, anyway), and the lines didn't always connect, so it looks unusual.

I just tought about drawing something with old equipments and here is something i came up with. Ironically, my mom made her own eagle picture around same time on her life as i did (around 2 months before 18th birthday), which i can consider as surprice. I even saw her eagle.

      I would like to dedicate "Hawk Song" to a very talented artist by the name of Verzias. He too, has been such a supportive and encouraging friend here on FAC, I'd be at a loss without him. ^^ Thank you so much for taking the time to view and comment on all of my new pieces and always pointing out the best qualities in them. You have no idea how encouraging that is!

     I'm really happy with how this piece turned out-it would of been better if it weren't so blurry-but for the most part I like it. Painting birds have proven to be kind of difficult, but they're a lot of fun to do.

I didn't have time to complete this by Thursday like I said I would, but I did manage to complete this on Friday, which is today.

Fixed the waterfall a bit with ink, darkened the log, and shaded in the eagle in ink.

I'm quite proud with this, even though there are a few things I could have done better.

FULL STORY for why this picture came to be:
I went to a museum in Maine on my summer vacation and saw a stuffed Eagle there and took a picture of it. Still have the picture to this day in my camera.
Anyways, I decided to 'bring it to life', and place it in the wild. ;p

The background was purely made up by me, though someone in my class has said that it reminds her of California.. or was is Chicago? xD

Wow, I never really thought I could draw eagles like this, and it's the second time I drew one. And it was my first time using my graphite pencils, mind you they smudge a bit I was using a, I think it was a 4B one. I'll colour it a little later. The kinda funny thing about it is that this is my best friend's favourite animal.

I pic of Sea Eagle catching a fish out of the water done in the style of Pointillism. For those who are unfamiliar with what pointillism is, it's the art of creating entire pictures in dots with pen & ink. Yes everything in this pic is dots-including(incredibly)the black wings. They took 2 weeks by themselves. Don't mind the smudge under the upper wing, that was created by an annoying kid in my art class trying to ruin my work. Hehe it didn't work, this pic was still entered in the school art show.

The Haast's Eagle lived in New Zealand about 700 years ago. It is thought to be the heaviest flying bird ever to have evolved. It's diet consisted mainly of the Moa, another New Zealand bird that resembled the Ostrich and Emu in appearance.

In my picture I tried to recapture a scene from the past of a Haast's Eagle attacking a mother Moa who is trying her best to protect her five chicks. The father is attempting to scare off the eagle. Who wins, that is up to your imagination!
