This is from an original landscape (Kitchen Garden with Trees in Flower - Pontoise 1877) by the impressionist french painter Camille Pissarro. I'll update this information if necessary as soon as I can and hope you enjoy viewing this in the meantime.
PS. Apologies for the light and dark lines that appear most strongly on the sky near the top left of the painting. The picture was in its frame under glass and the bands are possibly due to unwanted reflections from the glass (artifacts?).]]>Painting* done c1978 based on a landscape by Camille Pissarro (*1 of 2) by liggybirdurn:uuid:ac0cd31f-77cf-ae11-474c-b11ff84c56062021-05-08T15:22:20-07:00One of a number of acrylic paintings I did in the late 1970s. Also no 'effects' have been added this time. I made changes to the subject's hair and face and added a few extra details to her shirt.]]>Singer/songwriter musician by liggybirdurn:uuid:c67469c7-ce99-ea47-9a6b-8197e30f84e42020-05-18T03:16:56-07:00A drawing of one of my musician Facebook friends (based on a screenshot frame from one of the subject's videos). I've 'enhanced' the graphite pencil drawing using Windows 10's 3D Paint editing app. I didn't quite get the likeness in the subject's face that I wanted but considering this is the first drawing I've done for about a year I'm happy with the result. Drawing a guitar was also new to me and fortunately I did a reasonable job of that. I've drawn Natalie once before about ten years ago. See if you can find the drawing I did then in my gallery (I'll post a link to my earlier drawing in a few days time). I've used MS Photos to adjust contrast and to add the vignette effect. I hope she likes this.]]>Alita Battle Angel with Dr Dyson Ido by liggybirdurn:uuid:e9f88aec-da9e-0f70-3aef-c6ef20c0838f2019-02-27T15:41:39-08:00Alita with Dr Dyson Ido (from the film Alita: Battle Angel). This scene is where Alita is talking with Dr Ido before taking part in the final rollerball* competition (*I think that's what it was called??). I'm well out of practice but I'm quite pleased with how my drawing turned out. I can thoroughly recommend seeing the film while it's showing on the big screen (I've seen it twice on IMAX - an incredible experience both times!) I totally loved it and, soon after watching the film, began to mull over drawing one of the characters from the film. I was spurred on to produce a drawing (asap) as I'll be going to a cosplay event in two days (next Sunday 16/9/18) and wanted to take with me a drawing to enter in the fanart competition they'll be holding on the day. I used an HB pencil and have slightly adjusted the contrast and brightness of the scanned picture. It's only A4 size so best not to scrutinise the details too closely. Haven't done any drawing for ages (again!!) so I'm well out of practise (not that, at my age, I still nurse any aspirations to improve!) Anyways, I'm happy with what I've done and will still very much appreciate any comments anyone cares to make. Wish me luck in the competition. Cheers.
Footnote. Below is a link to the webpage that has the film screenshot that my drawing is taken from (click on the small image to enlarge it). The webpage also has a revue of the film which rates the film a 2/4. I loved the film and watched it from start to finish (at home on a 3D bluray disc - though it's also in 2D on the same disc) the day I bought it even though I didn't put it on 'til after 11 pm! That's how gripping I found it. Yay 🙂.

I've been trawling through scores of images that came up when googling the words 'cosplay' and 'ballroom'. Finally I decided on one of a girl in a (red) dress dancing under a fairly big chandelier. I've enhanced contrast rather considerably over that of my original HB pencil drawing. I'm not expecting to win or anything. (I just wanted something to take with me to show I'd at least put in put in some kind of effort.) All I need now is some cosplay gear to wear - and to learn how to dance! Anyways, let me know what you think. Thanks for your interest.
My original comments ...
This is the first drawing I've done for at least a couple of years so I'm well out of practise. I actually messed up Wonder Woman's face somewhat here because I'm pretty sure it was better at an earlier stage - before I started playing about trying to improve things but ending up having made them worse! I'm fairly happy with the outcome (in spite of what I just wrote) so I'm posting this to my gallery (rather than to scraps) as I wanted a drawing of Wonder Woman to join my other favorite female characters. (Also I doubt I'll ever get round to attempting another drawing of WW. Just saying.)]]>Wonder Woman by liggybirdurn:uuid:ac3ae494-7adc-7148-ad3f-db83864c21322017-07-09T21:06:25-07:00This is the first drawing I've done for at least a couple of years so I'm well out of practise. Fawn takes the starring role in this awesome film. I can't recommend seeing this film too highly. This is the sixth film in the Tinkerbell series and is every bit as good as any of its predecessors. Think I'll nominate this as my 'favourite film of 2014' - which is saying something since there's only a few days of 2014 left!. Hope you like my drawing. :)

It shows Ethyl (foreground) as she enters a witches headquarters and being confronted by one of a number of bats (the little grey squiggles lol) that were sleeping on the walls of the room. It's from my imagination - so it's a bit crude (the quality that is!) The image appears rather small on the role play so I thought I'd reproduce a larger version of it here. Another project I got involved with (at the same local primary school and at a similar date* as where I did my last FAC submission) was a collaborative effort to paint part of a mural on the walls of the school nursery's cloakroom.
My area to paint was across a corner, at one end of some washbasins. After I'd finished I took some photographs. Here I've tried to match the images together across the corner. The upper picture shows closer detail, the lower picture includes some of the mirrors and washbasins. Unfortunately the camera I used was of very poor quality - in those days I was a complete 'newby' to digital photography, so 100K pixels seemed like a lot! I just thought the photos were worth adding to my gallery. Hope you agree. ^^

I did them about fifteen years ago. At the time a local junior school was offering various courses. I enrolled on one for which the aim (of the course) was that everyone should make their own book. (To cut a long story short) the end result for me was to come up with the above set of (A4) crayon drawings. I then used laminated A4 scans of the drawings to make a few copies (I think maybe five or six) of my book.
I no longer seem to have any of the books I made all those years ago (though I am still looking as I certainly wouldn't knowingly throw one away!). Fortunately, however, I did manage to find the scan files, as well as a file with the words of the poem. I've used these in the above to create (on a single sheet) an alternative version (using MS Publisher) of my 'book'. Hope somebody likes this. ^^

That I'd sooner or later have a go at drawing Tink's sister Periiwinkle, (born from the same baby's laugh as Tink but as a winter fairy) was pretty much inevitable I guess. Here's my first attempt. I've not quite got the likeness I wanted, but it's the first drawing I've done since Merida and I'm both glad to have something to post as well as reasonably happy with the result. Hope you like my Peri.
