I'd have to blame Steve Irwin for the assumption that Aussies aren't classy. I mean, the first thing that people think of is the major stereotype which would be the most publicized thing... It's kinda like mainland Canadians verses the Newfoundland Canadians. I've got a friend back home who's convinced that I live in a fishing shack after the move. (Newfoundland's known for the Cod/fishing industry, talking like the Irish, and Screech - which I believe is some sort of whiskey...)

Australian's are actually classier than most people seem to think. We've grown considerably fancier over the years, it's a bit unsettling really D: But the rickshaw-dunny race is an annual event over here, held on Australia day (cos nothing says "I love this country" more than pulling your mate around while he's on the toilet, right?). There were some LOVELY photos of the event in the paper this year *begins plotting*

I'm not actually sure what their follow up reaction was. My Dad did point out to them that they weren't staying at the Etamogah Pub (after which point they became really interested in him, perhaps even treating him like a god), but I'm not really sure...]]>
