Another one of these Scanned-In-Pencil-Sketch-Digital-Colour pieces. I start to really like doing these.

The lines are not clean on them but I like that especially, the drawing keeps it's hand-made soul with these strokes but get's brilliant digital colouring as a contrast.


This is Ulysses the Mountain Emperor, he plays a big role in my story about this wing-less dragon species he belongs to (Crowncollar Dragons).

It was fun to work on (I luv to draw shiny things ^__^) and it was also nice because it was something "different".

... the wind was cold, dark clouds made the sky fade to grey. A lonely tower. A flag, like a blood splatter, just a toy of the winds is the one thing that breaks out this dismalness... being the observer of two heroic opponents. How will this confrontation end...?


Finally finished...

I have no clue how many hours I needed but it was worth it all. The details in the background and on the figures turned out really great. I like how it turned out.
I made some brush tips also just for the works in the background and the figures have around separate additional layers just for different effects. Shading and light is also all separate. The original version of this is sooo big I'm still fascinated that my old computer was able to manage it.
I hope you will like it too. ^__^

Just my interpretation of Alduin the dragon from Skyrim. (So he might not be completely correct there)
It's just a quick under-sketch-digital colouring there, it was fun to do.

Oh and I'm still not through with the game, so not too much spoilers here please.

My last artpiece for 2011.
I had really a lot of fun drawing and colouring this piece. Snowy backgrounds are the ones I like to draw the most. I think I'm getting a lot better with landscapes and other backgrounds now.
And yes that is a stylized version of the Austrian flag there.

Wow, long time no art...
But there will come more from me again hopefully soon, I will have some more freetime to work on art during Christmas.

Yeah, a digital painting! I can make these but I'm mostly too impatient for more complex ones unfortunately but I'm really happy about how this one turned out.
I got inspired by my trip to Dubai also for this (I sooo need to get there again, it is all made out of awesomeness! I love Dubai).

The painting shows an elegant and noble Dragoness who just enjoys the light of her Arabic Lantern. ^__^

All done in Photoshop CS2 and my Graphire 4 tablet, the only reference I used was my own hand and a photo of lanterns made by my sister in Dubai.

I also tried to make my signature look Arabic there.]]>

I just had to draw a snow-fun-piece after seeing that outside.

- This creature has an interesting story, it's an Austrian myth...

... the old story tells... when the Goggau lake was once created, the devil itself filled it with all kinds of beasts, dark creatures and strange animals. One of them was a giant Saw-fish. The teeth of this fish were not the most dangerous part on him, he got a big and sharp saw instead of his fin on the back. He was able to cut through just everything with it.
A brave adventurer wanted to find out more about this dangerous creature. But he also wanted to be secure while diving and so he made and also wore 9 layers of clothing made out of glass-armour, so the story tells.
The fish was waiting for him in the deep already. It could have been the adventurer's last dive, he underestimated the saw-fish but he was lucky in the end. The fish did cut through 8 of the 9 layers of glass-armour just with one sweep of his body, the fish thought that he was done with that brash intruder and did not start a second attack immediately. The adventurer noticed that and was able to get out of the water before the fish saw that he was still in one piece...

This is the myth of the giant Saw-Fish of the Goggau Lake.]]>

PLANTS!

XD I have no clue how long this thing was laying around unfinished, I was only working on it from time to time.
The plants are all new drawn, I drew a collection of different leaves, bushes and etc. first and made an arrangement out of them for the jungle there.
The closer the plants are to the viewer the more blur I used on them.

The guy there is a Clouded Leopard anthro who relaxes and tries to get some food without moving too much and the butterfly there is a Papilio bianor.]]>

This little creature, half plant half amphibian, does not like the darkness of the night very much. But fortunatelly it is able to brighten up the dark. On it's tail tip there is a bell flower with a glowing ball in the center. When the small Planticus does not feel so well he just uses his light to sunbathe a bit, produce some more vitamin D and be happier again.

I would imagine him being a figure with a "glow in the dark" ball on the tail tip. :)
