It's not quite finished, but I need some feedback. I'd like to put some fur details on it, but don't know how to go about it. Can anyone help me?<br />
Also, the anatomy, as you've probably noticed is not that of the usual griffin. This picture was a response to the challenge thread in the Request board. It's my idea of what a griffin would look like if it were blended more seamlessly. Once I have it completely finished, I'll probably put up a more detailed explanation of how the anatomy works.

Y'know, at first glance it struck me as something like a flying squirrel with a bird's head... but part of the idea behind the challenges thread I made in the forums is to see how people do their own thinking, rather than see people do things according to cliché and tradition.

Now, as for hot to portray fur, I can't talk CG but when you do fur by hand you basically shade using a lot of short strokes aligned to the direction of the furs. For CG, experiment with drawing a bunch of short lines of varying shades, at varying transparency/pressure values, and see what you get.
