Okay, this is Johnny as a mantis. An animal that suits him perfectly, and I have reasons! 
1. The praying mantis was named because the way it holds its front arms is reminiscent of a person praying. 
Johnny's name means "beloved of God" 
2. The mantis is a very effecient hunter, using those pincers on its front legs, it stalks its prey, grabs them, then bites their head off. Johnny does much the same, except with knives, and he doesn't do the decapitation thing with his teeth. 
3. Johnny's hair-do looks alot like antennae. 
4. Johnny expressed a desire to be more insect-like in the comics. Well, wish granted!

Praying manti are always falling on my head. 0o

I lub them, and yet I'm so paranoid of them for that reason, as I am of many things...Nuns, soft shelled tacos, being tackled down the stairs by my beloved squishy, the schools bathrooms....But anyways, I commend the thought you put behind this and your drawing skills. Plush I heart NNY, though I'd have to say the woman who worked in heaven was my favorite.
