Beautiful coloring. Such a wonderful setting that it almost draws me away from what's actually taking place. Which I suppose is foreshadow for the upcoming deception. Nice work.

Thanks for the comment Absolution. I used watercolors on a small white mat board for this picture. Yeah that makea alot of sense about the whole Dragon/Serpent thing!! Thanks for that info.

I like it, what did you use to color it? The art itself is well done too.

A little tidbit of info for just anyone who so happens to come accross this...

When in the Bible, even though it says serpent, it wasn't referring to a snake. Serpent was actually derived from Dragon which also (in Hebrew) meant Seraph.

So this Serpent in the garden was actually Satin in his full Seraphic form. (Basically a brilliant dragon with six wings)

Well, those of the Jewish faith and Christian faith both believe in the first books of the bible (Genesis included, which is where this comes from).

So, yes, it is both, but in this case it has been dubbed "Christian."

Another comment, this turned out well. I love the way this turned out, and I like the red hair. I think a lot of portrayals of her have a reddish tint to her hair (classical art). This turned out beautiful. I really love this. It's very lovely, and the serpent is excellent. Nice work on this piece.

miriamartist, I just thought it would kinda be a cool scene to paint, I dont know too much on Christianity, sorry.
I dont mean to offend anyone, just painted something I thought my mom would recognize. I made her hair red because I think red hair is beautiful.

but isn't this a jewish fact? I mean I know that all the people of the world come from her, but does this picture have anything to do with christians? great pic by the way, I love her hair, I only know that king David was a red head.

Great stuff here, love the composition and the coloring is once again topnotch! If you don't have a gallery on Deviant Art you should get one asap and let me know your screen name, then i could keep track of your new stuff more easily.

Now THAT's pretty! It rather puts me in mind of Matisse. Also, I don't think I ever saw a red-headed Eve before. :D Refreshing!
