The notorious "Super-Monster" that killed Superman... Yeah, I know, some of the younger artists on this site will have no clue who this guy is. But back when I read the storyline, I thought doomsday provided something to the Superman titles that no other villain before him did. And that was providing a villain that was physically superior to Superman. I mean think about it, most of Superman's villains are schemers, and even the ones who outdo him on power prefer to try to outwit him. There are some slower-witted characters that are on par with superman physically. But Doomsday was the first to far outdo Superman physically without providing a mental challenge.<br />

Eh, I don't know if Doomsday is still around, I have heard about him coming back a few times while more was revealed about his endurance (he adapts to his enemies attacks until they have no effect on him). I've even heard he finally developed intelligence, which is something I wouldn't have minded seeing. But, I'm not a big comic book guy anymore; I just have fond memories of that time in my youth.
