A poem written by my brother actually inspired this piece; he sent the poem to me shortly after I had seen the Phantom of the Opera movie for the fifth time. *snicker* The Phantom here is NOT modeled after Gerard Butler, but is an amalgam of several different guys I used to get the pose and the angle of the head just right. I created this with Prismacolor pencils over a watercolor/acrylic/ink wash. It is about 15x20 inches and took about 40 hours to complete.

That's the most fun way to do it! (Is 'funnest' a word yet?) And it really DOES look awesome! I love the detail work you did, especially on the feather-like thingies. And the background is amazing! Everything looks so perfect...I'm jealous...you're amazing!
