it's from the french dubbed versions.
I used to watch those, I know that the english dubbes were terrible, i've seen an episode in english and it was horrable, the actors didn't sound right and they totaly changed the script.
The people who made the french dubbes didn't cut anything, they even showed Kero's corner. They kept all the Yoai material and all, the only early episode I didn't see in french was the one where Kero gets drunk off brandy chocolats. That one had the flote card. I didn't get to see the later episodes in french (last eps of 3rd season)
his name is Japanesse is Syaoran Li, and his Chinese is Xiao Lang Li. the way they came up with Lionel, is because they introduce you by last name then first in japanesse, but in americas and europe, it's the first name so: "Li SyaO-ran" or "Li XiaO Lang" became "Li-O-nel". they didn't give any last name.
Sakura's last name became Gauthier instead of Kinomoto. and everyone else got very french names too.
