For those of you who guessed Kimba, you're correct! From what I've learned, The Lion King was actually plagerized from Kimba, The White Lion. Here's the story:
For more than 20 years the story of Kimba remained unknown to the American viewers. And then, in 1998, Disney studios do everything that is in their power to prevent the movie "Jungle Emperor Leo" from being shown at the "Toronto FantAsia Film Festival". Why? Maybe because the stories of Kimba and Simba are too alike?
All the TLK chars at first sight are incredibly similar to the JEL chars... Mufasa (Caesar), Sarabi (Snouin), their son, Simba (Kimba), Nala (Kitti), the kings secretary, Zazu (Polly Cracker) and Rafiki (Den'L). They all even look a bit alike!
Simba fights with his own uncle - Scar. Kimba fights a lion with the same scar! The lion's name is Claw. Kimba also has an evil aunt... The villains befriend hyenas (TLK - Banzai, Sheni, Ed, JEL - Tom and Teb)
But that's not all! Everybody remembers the scene where Mufasa appears in the clouds? The same happened with Kimba in JEL!!! There al lot of other scenes that are alike: the one with flying flamingos, two cubs escorted by a bird, cub eating untasty things...
Peter and Rachel Shweizer talked to the Disney animators and found out that rough animation from JEL has been used when making TLK! Disney studios received 1.5 million $ from TLK. Tezuka Productions wasn't even mentioned in the titles...

So, kimba wins? Simba means Lion in African, I find that funny because if you think about it, whenever they call for him, if it was all the way translated it would be.

Disney totally copied!! The only reason why Disney's version was better was because they had more stuff to make special effects!! Oh well.... Simba rocks and I love your drawing!*favs*
oh and how i learned about kimba it was a loooong time ago and i watched the old episodes of pokemon and they had commercials at the end and i watched them then a kimba commercial came on and i thought that simba and kimba were friends and then i saw that website oh and this was the new adventures of kimba that the commercial was about oh and on that commercial they showed a brown lion cub like kovu!
