There's quite a story behind this character. Originally, my friend Sean asked me to design a character for a story he was writing. 'Ok,' I thought, 'just a simple female character. No big.' Wrongo. When you ask me for a character, I tend to go into as much deph as is possible. So, I wrote up the profile, reworked it several times, and finally I was happy with the end result.
Sean made it worse when he asked if maybe I could do characters sketches for all the main characters of the story. Well, this got me thinking again. 'What would Rain look like on paper? What clothing would she wear? What would her dominant emotions look like?' And the end result is this, a main character sketch with four little emotion sketches on the side. Rain is an enigma because she is half water elemental and half fire elemental; the two most contradicting elements in one girl. I at least thought that was an enigma. In case you can't read what it says under the pictures, here's the writing:
Sweatdrop picture: surprised/shocked/caught a dumbass (XD)
Windy picture: happy/carefree/excited
Crying picture: sad/betrayed/hurt
Angry picture: betrayed/angry/pisses off (and it says (crappy)fire where the little arrow is pointing to her hair.... it's supposed to look like fire but it didn't turn out very well))
I'll probably color the big picture someday to show her contrasting coloring. Her eye's are supposed to be a very light aqua, almost translucent, and her hair is a firey red. Personally, I think this is one of the best picture I've ever drawn (plus my first time drawing someone crying). So please leave a comment!
