It's good you admit it's a ridiculous habit.

I know so many people who are like "OMG I'M SOOO DEPRESSED I WANT TO DIE SOOOO BADLY AND I CUT MYSELF BECAUSE I'M SOOOOO GOTH AND IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES ME HAPPY!!" and they go around showing their scars to people to make everyone feel bad for them.

I can tell you're not like that.
