Concept art for my art class. I'm doin' five pieces on my sister marrying her Playstation controller; this is number one.
Pulled an all-nighter painting this. I was sooo tired the next day (and I had a Spanish test, which was thankfully extremely easy. Or maybe it just seemed easy . . . ).
[Edit: It just seemed easy. Whoops :P ]
There should be more to say about this . . . oh! That's my shirt, but my sister don't have any white clothes (wedding and all that), so she borrowed it.
Acrylic on luwan (18x24), time is one night plus some other random amount of hours to draw it out and paint the underpainting.
[My sister would like you to know that she's not actually glued to the TV and Playstation. She has way too much homework for that. But, she does play a lot. =D ]
wow, you paint so wonderfully, and on the second one, i don't think you draw spoons, cereal, or plates and/or bowls half bad : ) if it makes you feel better, i can just barely draw hands, much less a spoon or cereal... -__-
awwwwwwwwwwwww thats ama-za-zing! anyways, i really like your style of artwork, PAINTING!!! i wish i could, but i cant so yah. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool to see videogames depicted in this media. I love the concept, it's funny and you've put gravity in it with the way you painted it(don't ask me how! ^^; that's as close as I get to describing it). The light in this is beautiful. Favourite.
Wow, this is amazing! I just got a PS2 and I can't get enough of it! XD Your hard work paid off beautifully my friend, keep more awesome art coming! *faves*
PS spanish is very hard! I'm mexican and I can assure you that ^^;;;;
Español es muy dificil, sí. ^^; Mi professora rara vez habla en inglés, y yo no entiendo much cuando ella habla en español. Y mi vocabulario . . . lol. Chicos de cinco años saben más palabras que mi.
Jaja . . . ¿entiendes? My grammar isn't that great, either. =^_^=
LOL! I love that consept. so tru, but kinda sad, really ;_; a/w, GREAT PAINTING!! I h8 painting....but not as much as oil pastels or charcoal. THE SMEARING!!! ><
that almost as odd as Silverscales' drawing of the letter R..well, you did a good job! but why Playstation? why not the Wii? or gamecube? i like Sony and Nintendo, nintendo is just better:P
Thanks! And, well, there's several reasons. One is that in my mind, the Playstation one is more universally recognizeable than anything. The second is that it's blackish and makes for better contrast and ties in better with the background. And the third (and main) reason is that PS is the one she plays the most (we have a GameCube but we only have Link and Mario Smash Bros and one controller, 'cause we're cheap ^^;). So there you have it.
I love the cleverness of this...the title...the chord like a ring...^_^ It's a really awesome. I'll send your sister a lovely...fruit basket for her wedding...*hands over basket*
its so beautiful! i hope i can paint like this one day (i will need to be able to, i am doing art GCSE) as someone else said it is nice to see something other than anime on here. nice idea.^^
GCSE's..put it this way...they are stinky hard exams that are very important as they decide which Univercity you go to...but i cant be bothered with them yet (give it a couple of months, then i will be panicking)

Interesting, that wasn't the impression I got when I looked at the picture originally. To me, it seemed more like the woman had taken the controller away from her partner because she wanted to spend some 'fun' time with him. The long flowing blonde hair, and the rough white shirt doesn't seem very bridal.
You know, you're the second person who has said that (either someone on dA or at my school, which is incidently also known as DA), and I can see where that's coming from. This piece might make more sense once it's with the other four, which I'm planning right now to be her eating breakfast with it, seeing it off to work, in bed with it (but keepin' it G, here ^^) and maybe one where they're walking on the beach, or the controller's dead and she's mourning it . . . not sure about that last one yet.
Oh wow thats awesome and very clever! As a few other people have said I love the looping around the finger to make it look like rings. Lovely detail on the controller.
WOW what an amazing painting, and such a cool idea! Really awesome work with contrast, lighting, and the PS2 controller looks so realistic, well done indeed!
