Autumn - I fear colouring because I too am uncomfortable with it. But greatness is not an overnight phenomenon. Determination and practice do not lend themselves well to imediate success. To say it's "awful" is terrible input. It doesn't tell you where you were successful in your endeavor, nor where you need improvement. To critize it as "awful" is a very simple minded opinion, and I personally would not put much stock in what the guy had to say, especially if he did not offer any more than that statement. No it is not awful compared to your lineart. I see that you are willing to expand your skills and learn more. You are very much more advanced than I, and perhaps - if you are not too busy with your own beautiful artwork, you may offer criticism to my gallery, because I think I can learn alot from you.

It's a very beautiful picture. I think you should continue to work with CG to get better. The face could use a little more color, but it and the hair are both done beautifully. The clothes could use a little work as well. Good job overall!

I don't think it's nice of that guy to say it's awfull. This is a very well done pic. You should keep coloring since you are very skilled at it. And if you think you are bead then continue doing it, that way you will improve your skills and you will make him eat his words.
