Ah, this may take a little explaining. The idea came from a fanfic I mentioned earlier called Zhòumà Mìngyùn, found here: www.fanfiction.net/s/3032527/1/ It's by *SomniumAngel. If you haven't read it...do so. Seriously, it's AMAZING. Long story short, a climactic final battle that has been nicknamed "Armageddon" upset the balance of the world, Rai did something and ended up leaving the temple (it's from his POV), and...stuff happens, several years later. I don't really know what else to say without spoiling stuff, but part of it is that Kimiko and Clay are married and she's pregnant. I don't think she was this far along, but...other than that, this is based off the way they are in the fic, and the writing is a line of Kimiko's.
That was...too long. Just read it- it's written amazingly.
