Jocasta

For many years he has endured battles too hideous for him to even wish to recount.

Now for a long, boring explanation :-D
This man, creepy as he looks, is one of my many novel characters, but one who I see as rather special. He was quite literally the beginning of a collaborative fantasy novel that's being developed between me and a close friend (think I mentioned it with my pic "Gwaerin", for those who saw it). After a lot of work I finally managed to do a picture that represented exactly how we both saw him. (except perhaps for the shoddy hair, but that's the closest I could get with any of the styles I own. Bleurgh.)

In short, He is not a very happy man.

Okay, he doesn't really have that spooky corpse complexion, but that's the light settings I used. Otherwise, possibly the most postwork I have *ever* done on a 3D model, simply because imperfection is what makes this character perfect to us ;-)

I adore that scar on his hand.
I agree that it looks very much like a screen cap-taken right out of a video game, professional even :)

oooe....a scarred man...I like it!!! you rock at dark characters...compliments!!! wish I could make something dark...but they all come out cuddely..really annoying!!!
anyways LOVE this picture...of course putting it with my favs....and I'm talking too much again...so finally: YOU ROCK and your art and keep up this amazing work!!! ^^

This is breathtaking! The environment that he's brooding in is perfect for the mood of this picture, dark and foreboding. For some reason I really like his nose and chin, delicate yet strong. He looks like a very interesting and complex character. What's his name?

The postwork was well used. It wasn't until I read the description and looked at the image closer that I realized it is rendered. The pose and expression are very telling and I like the dark, moody look to the whole picture. Very nice.
