Yes, but not being able to tell a character's gender at first glance can be useful sometimes.  For instance, I was looking for fight scenes between Inuyasha and Sesshomaru on Photobucket to see if I could try drawing them (failed miserably).  My mom was passing by as I was stuck on a page showing Inuyasha and Sesshomaru yaoi pictures.  She paused and said, "That girl's rather pretty," as she was pointing at Sesshomaru.  I didn't correct her.  Only after she had left the house did I burst into laughter.

Yeah, you can tell the difference! XD Look for boobs. And facial shape, and the shape/lack of eyelashes. It's pretty easy for me . . . but then again, I read a hella lotta shounen-ai. XDDD
