what kind of colored pencils do you use? This makes me envious beyond reason.

Ah, just Prang colored pencils for this. XD Um, it's all a matter of how you color... using multiple layers of coloring really helps to make the colors stand out more, and like, for example, different shades; I color my black with purple as an underlying layer, then black. :) Stuff like that. :)
