yes she's from the leaf village.
she used to live in the sand village, but after her dad killed her mom, he killed himself, she lived all alone, but one day she met gaara and they became really good friends. A week later, 2 ninja from the leaf village came to take her to her uncle that lives there, and when she was about to leave, gaara gave her that bracelet so she wouldn't forget him.....ill write out the whole story someday, and post it up.
