Wicabeth
Okay, did a complete overhaul on another picture and actually drew a background. Still, most of this was half-assed, but I'm happy with how it came out really.
Still listening to "When the world ends" by Dave Matthews Band
The obligatory story:
The fires burned all around them, growing hotter as the flames grew higher. Everything lay in rubble of the world that Dib once knew as he watched in defeat. He had failed in his mission to save the world, but, truthfully, what was one boy against an entire alien empire?
Irken ships flew every which-way in the sky, striking down those unlucky groups that were not taken as slaves.
Zim pulled him along by wrapping an arm around his waist, urging him to move.
"We do not have time for you to stand around, Dib human. The Massive will be conducting the organic sweep soon and you will not want to be here when that happens."
Dib kept looking back with regret and sadness at the ruins of his home city.
"... Why not, Zim?.. Everything is gone... You've won... Why not just let me stay here and be killed or taken like everyone else?"
Zim didn't look at him while they walked. He was focused on getting them safely to his ship. They were boarding just as the other Irken ships were zipping out of the atmosphere to await the sweep. Only when Zim had started the cruiser and began to lift off did he answer.
"I may have conquered your plant, Dib, but I will not let you die so easily... Nor will I stand by and watch you be made someone else's slave...."
They broke the atmosphere and began to approach the waiting Massive where they both boarded and went to the amphitheater where hundreds of other Irkens stood waiting.
Zim kept his head held high even as he marched to the stage after the Tallest had announced their surprise in his victorious success.
"As the invader responsible, you are entitled to the initiate the sweep, Zim... But why did your bring one of the creatures here with you?
Zim bowed respectfully, "My Tallest, I am deeply honored to have this privilege bestowed upon me, however, I must decline..."
The cheers began to die down in surprise.
The Tallest exchanged a look before turning back to Zim.
He continued, "And as to why I have brought this human here...." Zim pulled Dib forward and held him possessively, "He will be spared the fate of the rest of his planet."
Dib's heart began to pound as all eyes were on him. The Tallest looked shocked.
Zim swept his gaze over the audience before looking back to his leaders and stating with finality, "The Dib human belongs only to Zim."
