Here's a new comic, finally!
Sorry. I was too lazy to color it. And I wanted to try a full-page format for Neobaka instead of the usual 4-koma format. Plus, I'm tired from exams. Once again, this was based on a true story. For the record, the back of my head was facing the waitress when she made the mistake.
IF YOU USUALLY JUST SKIP THIS RANT ALTOGETHER, YOU MAY ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE PART BELOW.
If you've seen Naruto (the first series) with the original Japanese audio, you've probably also seen the episode of Naruto that aired last week Saturday with the english dub.
I know that underage drinking isn't really something that telelvision is trying to promote, but I think that particular dubbed episode of Naruto was a little...well...retarded.
Rock Lee sneaks out of his room to help Naruto and, since he was in a hurry, accidentally took something other than his prescription medicine. Now, if you've seen the original version of the episode, you know that what Rock Lee took was a bottle of Tsunade's sake, or alcoholic beverage. However, if you've seen the english dub, you know that what he took was not alcohol at all, due to the fact that we are not allowed to promote underage drinking.
So what did he take? Never doubt the writers, for they had come up with a totally clever and completely sensible alternative! That's right! The beverage that Rock Lee took was in fact....Elixer!
...WHAT...THE...F*CK???
Ooooooookayyyyy....Now, I understand that perhaps there wasn't really anything else that they could've chosen other than an item found in video games capable of replenishing one's MP. But...elixer? What exactly does that even mean?? And if Gai knew that Lee goes crazy from drinking elixer after going to a restaurant...why would a restaurant have elixer as a beverage in the first place?
Well, I suppose that was all pretty unavoidable, but this next part I don't really understand: Rock Lee, in the original version, is a master of the Drunken Fist. This is not the case in the English dub. He is, in fact, a master of the lengendary, the powerful, the style that strikes fear into the hearts of all, that's right--the Loopy Fist!
...I'm not even gonna comment on that.
Please comment and enjoy!
