When I see his live footage I see (besides the general Godly-ness) abstract elements; and bold colours, so I wanted to convey that in this picture. I thought, realism is all well and good - but it's not Steve.
That, and the fact his kind of inexhaustable talent and enthusiasm is something close to otherworldly anyway. ^_^

Nice technique. How did you get those colours to blend together, as well as looking so smooth?

Thanks! ^^ I actually created the background in photoshop first, using the gradient tool, which blends whatever colours you choose. Then I added a tile pattern as an overlay. I just imported my background into my sketching program and drew all over it. XD
