this is my oc Rei from the rp LoZ in between time, a drakken, which is not half-human-half-dragon, but another race on its own. similiar to the harpy, drakken have the scales, wings, legs, talons, breath weapon, magic capability, flight capability, and horns of a dragon, but the torso, head, bipedal ability, and speech of a human.
drakken are able to use a breath weapon by rubbing together two combustible substances in a section of their throat under the tongue called a "spark pouch". breath weapon depends on drakken species: red, gold, copper, and bronze breathe fire; black and green breathe noxious gas; blue, white, and silver breathe lightning, and the rare prismatic drakken breathes frost.
most drakken are capable of conducting magic either by birthright or through learning. schools of magic drakken use most are evocation (energy magic) and transmutation/illusion (mind and appearance altering magic). transmutation/illusion is commonly used on young drakken to diguise them as humans to avoid being hunted for magical reagents (as in rei's case).
drakken are capable of flight, despite not being hollow boned. their large, disproportional wings are able to rotate in their sockets at high speeds in order to lift the drakken from the ground. powerful, backward jointed legs add thrust for the lift.
