EDIT:
Wow, it's so weird. This looks good in photoshop, the colors are more balanced, and dull, and the shadows are lighter. But when I put it on the Internet it looks different. Kai's face is now more red, and the shadows on has face are way darker. O.o Has anyone else had this problem?
So, thanks everyone for the input, I don't know what I'd do without you.
SO, I am still in the process of fixing everything mentioned, but I figured I'd put up what I had so far so people could stop telling me about the book etc. (not that that's bad, but that was just the first thing I fixed).
What I've done:
-fixed book
-fixed lamp
-Fixed Kai's face up a bit (lol, that sound evil)
-nose
-eye
-shadows
-added more shadows on the table
-added another shelf of books
-added some more book titles
-made his shoulders smaller (yay! He doesn't look like a football player so much now!)
What I still need to do:
-Less wrinkles in coat
-Make his arm less stiff
-Make him a less skinny (aka add some more coat)
And if I'm crazy enough:
-Maybe redraw this picture from a different (top view) perspective...(~Oleem's way cool idea)
Once again, if you see something else for me to fix, please say so. If I didn't quite fix something well enough, say that too.

Well, one day...like three months ago...I felt like drawing Kai. And I just now finished him. XD
It's been a while since I've attempted something "realistic"...my skilz are getting rather rusty.
Anyway, I would really appreciate constructive crit on this....I'm sure I've done something blatantly, obviously, wrong....but I've been staring at this picture for to long to be able to tell any more (if you know how that is).
Um, now where was I? Ah yes, banter!
So, this is Kai and he's looking emo and reading a book. Or rather the book. This fact is really rather important, but at this point I am sure no one besides me knows how so or to what extent. Yay!
As for the location, it's one of his favorite paces to hang out, Dr. Kuro's private library.
Now, obviously Dr. Kuro has no organizational skills what so ever...this of course is no commentary on that of the artist....*shifty eyes*
Seriously though....that was a heck of a lot of books to title. XP
Coming up with titles was hard, they got rather uninspired near the end. There are a few amusing ones hidden in there, though they are hard to read. (I did that on purpose). Then there are some (a very limited number, and as impossible to read as I could make) that actually exist. My small homage to the stuff I've read for research for writing. (You know you're a nerd when you find that stuff more interesting than fantasy novels).
Um....can't think of anything else to say right now other than I plan on drawing Tez next. I also know that picture is likely to kill me...it's going to involve rain for one thing. XP Wish me luck.
