this is the Showa koi..it has a split tail and its over lapping itself
i know the head isnt exactly right

i prefere not having the waves because i'm not very good at them but a few people told me that a koi picture like this would look better with waves..also drawing the waves might help me get better at them

Yeah, waves kinda go along with koi so... :D And they´re not easy to draw like you said. ^_^ By the way, the lotus flowers are well done! :D
