yet another update on a request from Xiakeyra, this character, Blaxeon, riding a horse. that was my "vision" of it. the horse is somewhat andalusian-type. see her gallery for more detaills about this character.
now, about the changes since the original:
the horse has been refined, i've improved the head a lot, now i'm happy with it. i've done everything i can with Blaxeon. any further and i'd ruin it. i really suck at humans, and those arms still look like crap. i've also added one more rein, cuz the briddle looked too big for a single one. the standard stirrup became a portuguese box stirrup. not only it matches the portuguese-style saddle, but it also spares me the pain of drawing the foot. and believe me, i tried hard before giving up! -_-' i've also added those things in the horse's legs (how do ya call those?). i think it helps to cut down the extreme blackness of his feet. not sure i'll keep them, though...
oh, about the colours. i said it would probably be a dappled grey, but it looked awful with the golden armor. i also tried the bay and the black versions, and they looked cool but they had little "presence" (means the horse seemed to be shrinked by his rider and wasn't noticed as it deserves, IMO). besides, those colours aren't andalusian/lusitano traditional. so, i made it some sort of grey roan, with white strands. i think he now has personality and doesn't look too awful under all that gold. i hope... the saddle's colour is sort of lame, but it's going to look cooler with the peculiar matte shading.
and yeah, the horse's "stuff" is missing cuz the rider's foor has changed place sand i forgot to add it. now i'm not sure what level of accuracy i'm going to put into it... XD

hey there! that's my last sketch before the last pic. i've made the armor in golden, as you asked. and it looks awsome! i've taken the colour for blaxeon from your pic, with only slight adjustments. now i'll be working my head off on making the lines in colour (new technique, still under testing), so i hope i'll be able to put the final version up soon!
anyway, anything you wanna change, just tell me! ;)

time taken: 3 hours. but you must add this the 4 hours i spent in the first version! XD
medium: original sketch with pencil, everything else with photoshop elements and tablet.
