I KNOW THIS BAHSES SORA, DON'T FLAME ME BASED ON ONLY THAT PLEASE, I DON'T HATE HIM THAT MUCH... Though I really don't like him. READ ON IF YOU WANNA SEE ME BANTER ABOUT SORA'S REDEEMING QUALITIES.

There. I had to express aggression somehow, and I've been listening to british music all day. If I'd finished this yesterday, it would have been "Motherfucker," but, you know...
I know this is a giant colorful clusterfuck... but... Oh well. XD
So, SORA. This is what I have to say about Sora:
I made a character bashing meme. I know that. XD I hate it when people bash Riku and Kairi, and here I go, bashing Sora. You can call me a terrible person if you like... But really, my Sora bashing is all in good fun. (Mostly.) Because, first of all, like I said, I'm a hopeless pretentious cynic... I'm prone to liking dark secondary characters MUCH more then optimistic main characters. Nomura even said, Riku and Sora are foils (duh), Sora was created in the image of what a child would see as a hero, and Riku was more the type of hero that you might see casted in a final fantasy (Squall comes to mind...).
ALSO, I don't subscribe to the supreme power of goodness, and light and all..... because, again again, I'm a cynical atheist who hates the world, is intent on going to hell, believes in kill fetuses (not humans), etc, etc, etc... Which all adds us to a dislike of Sora.
I DID, however, find his nobody Roxas, appealing, and even enjoy the Roxal pairing until it went mainstream x10.
Speaking of which, I'd like to make you all feel better by going through what I DO like about Sora... (because I'd love for Riku and Kairi bashers to do this ¬_¬'
1. I like that his friends increase his strength. A lot. ...Riku & Kai, that is. This is a double sided coin, I DON'T like that he has an instantaneous bond with everyone and everybody loves him yadayada so all the disney characters and everyone else in the universe automatically loves him. I'd love to see the boy make some mistakes, and I don't say that maliciously, I say that out of a thirst for realism. I mean... he's... 16 in the second game? I'm sixteen. He doesn't behave like any 16-y-o's I know! Even if his heart is pure light, and if he has his higher "save-the-universe" calling to keep him being a good boy. He's got to get hurt sometimes, he has to feel some resent, right? ...Alright, I got off track there, sorry...
2. He's a good friend. Dammit, that's important. Playing Crisis Core... I can't tell you how mad I got at Zack when Cloud was basically saying "I love you." to him with all those cute little emails and stuff, and Kunssul (sp?)! He sent me all those helpful emails along the way! But Zack never is like... "Dammit, I love you, too, man!" He's always thinking about himself or Aeris. SERIOUSLY. The ONE time he says "I love you , man!" He covers it with Aeris immediately! ><; And she wasn't even cool in that game! ...Which brings me to my point... Sora fell on his knees when he saw Riku again, he never forgot about his buddies. That's an admirable trait that I permit.
3. I have a feeling if I met the guy for real and was just chillin' outside of all the KH crap, I'd like him. He's such a "little brother" type.
4. I LOVE the way the dynamic is set up between Sora, Riku, & Kairi. LOVE IT. When it's not all clouded up by corny bullshit I AM MAD ABOUT IT. He's an essential piece of the puzzle.
5. Fanfics where Sora has gone bad are undeniably entertaining.
There you have it. Sora. The pros and cons.
