background: she was a small child when the war started and had to learn how to fight in order to stay alive as her family had been killed already. she got good enough to become a "sword for hire" in a manner of speaking. she fought both against and alongside Kenshin. she doesn't remember her real name as she was only 5 when it started, the name 'crimson' came from a story someone made up about her to scare people, saying her hair used to be pure black but has been died deep crimson by the blood of those she's killed. and it stuck.(her hair has always been red black)
