Contest entry for Luckylace222
Mother and child sharing a moment under the mistletoe... I know their not kissing ( which I hope I don't get marked down for) but I thought this idea was sweet and portrayed the love of Christmas.
This is the first time I have attempted to draw real people... and babies

;____________________________; Her expression. SO SERENE. She is like the blonde young looking Mary. And her dress......your first time attempting real people? This is like a semi childish realism, and I LOVE IT. You will get many skill points for this because I am incredibly impressed by the calm and careful expression. The baby is adorable with those cheeks.
Others did funny/exciting/kissing themes, but I never emphasized the characters had to be kissing. They just had to show their reactions and feelings about what the mistletoe meant to them in some way, and this picture expresses its own mistletoe moment. I LOVE mother and child moments. The normal every day ones. I feel if the husband was int he picture, it would take away from the picture, so you planned out the centering so well. NICE WORK ON THIS ONE!
Your entry has been put up. You will find out the winner around January 2, 2012! OHHH I love her face and expression!

:3 I cant believe I drew humans...I was gonna do a puppy and kitten under the mistletoe but I wanted to try and do expressions and animals arent very flexible with emotions... so yeah... first time Ive referenced from portraits of humans XD Glad you like it though. An I thought kissing or romance may have been a critera because its says in the contest brief about it being tradition to kiss under the mistletoe XD silly mee over thinking things :3 oh btw what did you mean by new art-style?? is it because ive tried to draw real ppl?? :D Thanks for the comment xx

Yeah, the art-style of real people! Realism in itself is a whole new world, but you have manged to blend realism in with a more...softer cartoony art-style? If that makes sense? I just enjoy his type of soft art-style much more than plain realism (although that takes some extensive skill as well!) HO HOH HO
That was just to introduce what makes a picture creative. I was actually indirectly trying to say that the "traditional" reaction of a mistletoe is overrated. :P HAHAHAH no one understands my indirectness. ;-;
No problem! Thanks so much for the contest consideration! God diggity, I need to start judging!
