This is Alice Liddell. She was the little girl who inspired Lewis Carroll to write "Alice's adventures in Wonderland."<br />
<br />
He first met Alice when she was three. Lewis LOVED Alice. She was, by far, his best friend. Lewis would dress her up in costumes and take many photographs of her. (This may sound weird to some people and sweet to others.) Not much is known of the relationship of these two. But I don't think Lewis ever saw her again after she moved away when she was twelve. (Not even, in letters, the family broke off all contact with Lewis for some unknown reason.) It's kind of sad, really.

Really? Did you read this in the front of the "Alices Adventures in Wonderland & Tales Beyond the Looking Glass" or whatever the book is called? I read that and I thought it said he proposed to her, but her father said "No." I don't know. Sometimes I forget things.... ^^;;
