Description

A scene from the roleplay ShadowMagic and I are writing together on the fanart central roleplay forum (here http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewtopic.php?t=40113&start=40. )
The four characters in the foreground are (L-R)uncle Seth, Ethyl, Candrella (a mutated bat-like creature) and Rodrick the Orc Prince.
I wanted to do an illustration for the roleplay and thought this, with moomlight casting strong shadows, to be a suitably atmospheric scene.
Please don't scrutinise my pencil work too closely as it's the mood of the event (rather than accuracy and fine detail) that I hope I've captured.

Oh wow, I really like the scene, it is nicely done, it is both simple yet complicated at the same time, like the out-line of the forest, it makes it so that the ship is the main focal point to the picture.

It is okay if the characters are not detailed they are suppose to be far away in this picture. You could have used silhouettes as well if you didn't feel like drawing them out. Or an outline of their body shape with a shadow behind them as the ships light shine on them in the dark of night.

Thanks Danielle. I like your suggestions regarding the characters. I see now that that, using your suggestions, the figures could have been made to appear much more dramatic if they had been silhouetted in the moonlight or highlighted on their moonlit sides. I'm still pretty much a total novice at creating pictures from my imagination, lol.

Thanks Iashanta (and for favouriting this). This shows the moment in the story when the characters first set eyes on the flying saucer so I wanted it to look inviting!
