I didn't want to read Golem's Eye. Not really, because a friend told me that my beloved Nathaniel turned evil in it. But my Mum got the book for me for Christmas, so I couldn't NOT read it (I haven't yet finished it, but it inspired me too much already, so I just had to draw Nat again - btw, IMHO he didn't turn evil, just more ambitious).
I LOVE Nat. JUST LOVE HIM. :) (and yes, I know what happens to him in book three... *sniff sniff*)
