I am reading the books in English, and his name is Mat with one T there as well. This is simply his name. I believe it's Jordan's way to keep the characters more attached to his world. The name Matt is too our-world-ish. Just like with Elayne...normally you would spell it Elaine.Waldo on July 29, 2005, 4:48:14 AM

Note of warning, I can't draw people to save my life. Anime yes, people, no. This is a good take, the neck's not too short or long, the eyes are where they should be, shading's done well, turn of the neck looks good....I just like it overall. The name is not wrong. Because in Sweden his name is "Mat" not "Matt" so you don't think I missspelled or anything.
