I'm REALLY confused about the whole layers thing...

the whole, "the yellow will not show if you color over the brown thing"...

Let's see.
Okay. It's like taking a white piece of paper (Background Layer), and putting a red piece of paper (Layer 1) over it.
Now say you put a yellow strip of paper (Layer 2) over the red.
You cut a hole in the red paper. Now the white shows through (equivalent to erasing part of a layer).
So now, if you slide the yellow paper under the holes in the red (Moving the 2nd Layer under the 1st), the yellow will show through.
If this is a whole load of rubbish, you might go find someone with way better explanatory skills than I. :D

Oh, great tutorial, but I have a question. When you made 5the backround copy layer you said we should put it in Multiply. I don't understand. What does it do?

I've got a question. What software did you use? I really need to know, cause I REALLY want it for Hannukah and I got to send a list out to my relatives.also, what's the price range (if you have any idea)?
